I had a consultation a year ago, but because of personal reasons I could not have surgery right away, so I kept postponing it and came back recently.
I was told that I needed non-incisional eye correction and left a deposit, but later other clinics told me that I did not have ptosis and did not need eye correction, and I also did not want eye correction myself, so I asked for a refund of the deposit. The director then suggested that I come back once more for another consultation.
I visited again and had another consultation, but the director either had not been told that I did not want eye correction, or simply did not understand it, because they gave the same mechanical diagnosis of non-incisional eye correction. When I said I did not want eye correction, they said, fine, if you really want to live with sleepy eyes, I will leave it out for you. That was the attitude, and they agreed to exclude eye correction.
But on the consultation chart they wrote "quick buried sutures (non-incisional eye correction)" and told the staff to record it that way. After the consultation, I asked the director and the staff about it, and they casually said they were just writing it down that way for the record and told me to go ahead and set a surgery date.
I became uneasy and said I would think about it for a week, but the staff then scolded me, asking what the problem was if they would do everything I wanted, and why I still would not go through with the surgery. It was absurd. I said I would think it over for now and left the clinic, and then they sent me a message saying they could not give me the originally discounted price anymore. They told me to cancel if I wanted to cancel.
I have consulted at several places, but this was my first experience like this, and it was extremely unpleasant.
From the start, I wanted to cancel the reservation, but it was the clinic that suggested a third consultation, the consultation proceeded without my requested points even being passed on to the director, and they did not give me a clear explanation of the surgery I would be having. Instead, they kept asking why I would not do the surgery. Could I really trust this clinic enough to have surgery there?
I do not know how outstanding the director's surgical skill is, but even if the surgery is simple, I do not think I could lie on the operating table at a clinic like this and feel safe, so I canceled the surgery reservation.
