Eye Surgery Considerations

The Way Review

Maybe because my expectations for surgery were too high, but after the surgery I look at my ruined eyes and feel suicidal every day. Whenever I look in the mirror I feel depressed and want to die, and if I do not look in the mirror I keep thinking about my old eyes and start crying. I first had non-incisional epicanthoplasty and non-incisional lateral canthoplasty done here by Dr. Nam, and there was a free aftercare condition. I said I was also going to consult elsewhere, but they pressured me a lot to have surgery, and I ended up having it done that day by accident. But the effect was minimal, so when I later asked for the free aftercare, they told me to come in. When I went in, they said it would be charged, and it was even more expensive than the 580,000 won I paid for the first non-incisional inner and outer canthoplasty.. I did not understand, but the consultation manager said there was an effect so it had to be paid, and told me that if I did not do incisional surgery, there would be no effect. I kept saying many times that I did not want scars and absolutely did not want my double-eyelid line to change, so I wanted non-incisional surgery. But they kept saying my eyes needed incisional surgery.. And I had said I only wanted inner canthoplasty, but they said I also needed upper canthoplasty. I did not know that upper canthoplasty would change the double-eyelid line. If I had known, I would never have done it. And then I was told that the previous Dr. Nam had left and another Dr. Nam would be doing the surgery (I was not informed in advance). So on the consultation day I made a reservation and went home. After thinking it over at home, I went on the surgery day, signed the contract, and had the operation. When I came out after surgery, it was really... despairing. My eyes were too close together, and I spent a year in depression, unable to meet people properly. In the end, I came in on February 17. I said I was from the provinces and could come on the weekend, but they insisted on a weekday, so I closed my business early, took the KTX, and arrived. But in the end, the doctor had changed again. This time the head doctor saw me and said the surgery was fine, the scar was already there naturally, and there was nothing he could do about the double-eyelid line. So I asked, "Then do you think this eye looks like a successful surgery?" and he said, "Yes, it looks well done.".. He was not even the person who performed my surgery, and I had not been informed in advance. Is that not really too much? Every day is painful, and I went there feeling like I was grasping at straws, but they only kept saying that since I chose and agreed to it, they had done nothing wrong. Then am I supposed to die..? It is truly suffocating and every day is hell. What am I supposed to do, exactly..
