I thought about it for a long time, and because I had cosmetic surgery at what was, for me, a relatively late age, I was even more cautious and scared. What if it failed, what if there were complications, what if there was a medical accident, and so on? So I searched through even posts from 10 years ago on multiple communities and went to consultations at many places. Whenever something seemed like decent information, it turned out to be an ad or a fake patient, so it was really hard to get information about the hospital and the surgery. Still, I wanted to become prettier, so I decided to have surgery, and by my own judgment, I chose Apgujeong &. Except for the disappointing details and the fact that I have to be careful with my nose for the rest of my life, I think it was the right choice to have the surgery. If you think of cosmetic surgery as an 'investment in appearance,' then all responsibility for the investment lies with you, so I do not recommend the surgery or the hospital. When considering this hospital, I wrote this review in the hope that my experience would help you get a little bit of information. (Especially members who do not know much about cosmetic surgery T_T I really understand how you feel!!)
It has been about 2 years since the surgery, and I had eye surgery (inner corner widening + ptosis correction + incision) and nose surgery (bridge + septum + ear cartilage). Basically, I wanted surgery at a hospital in Gwangju, preferably one that had been operating for a long time, and by a board-certified plastic surgeon. I chose with those factors in mind, and in the end I am about 90% satisfied with the surgery. This is purely my personal satisfaction with the surgical result and the cosmetic aspect, and it does not include anything beyond the surgery itself. And since it is a personal opinion, it may differ from what others think, so please take it as reference~
Eyes. I did not really emphasize the line or height I wanted, and they did not even ask me about it haha. In the end, my eyes got bigger (my favorite part~), and the in-out line and height came out appropriately and naturally. But after the major swelling went down, the line and height gradually became uneven. It might still have been swelling, and I could only decide on revision 2 to 3 months later, so I went back to the hospital then. I went there worrying that they might refuse revision, but fortunately they immediately said it was asymmetry, so I decided on revision. But I could not do it right away and had to wait about 6 months, so I had the revision about 7 months after surgery. I asked whether I could just do one side since one side was perfect for me, but they said they had to balance both sides, so I did both. The revision went well too, but the line on one eye was slightly pressed and a bit distorted, and neither eye ended up as an in-out line. That reduced my satisfaction by 10% T_T Other people say they cannot tell, but I was very disappointed. Especially the line! And the eye muscle correction did not give me a big effect because I practiced opening my eyes incorrectly, but in the beginning it definitely made it easier to open them.
Nose. I was really worried about my nose, but it came out naturally and well, to the point that you can hardly tell I had anything done~ That is partly because my nose was very low to begin with, but the surgery itself was also really well done. I was just hoping there would be no complications, but after the surgery I also started wishing it had been a little higher. Still, I heard the director say to the staff near the end of the surgery, and also when explaining things to me during consultation. Even if they wanted to make it higher, my skin was thin, so this was the most possible^-^ And I had a slightly upturned nose with somewhat wide nostrils, but the tip surgery gave it a more refined look. It is hard to tell by eye, but in photos it looks clearly different. Not in a way that screams noticeable, but compared with before! The disappointing part is that the nostrils and the inner nasal wall space are a little asymmetrical, but only I know that, so it is just a small regret.
Other. For anyone other than people who think, as long as the surgery goes well, that is enough!, I think the biggest issue with this hospital is 'kindness' :-) As for the director, as I wrote in the consultation review, I was very satisfied with the consultation time and explanations. I talked about the basic explanation of the surgical area, the method suited to my case, and additional questions I had. The fact that they did not dodge responsibility for revision and explained what should be considered for revision also left a good memory. The staff overall did not feel especially kind, and the front desk definitely felt very businesslike, especially the manager^-^? The nature of the work may involve a lot of sensitive issues, but I would prefer staff to keep their private opinions about patients? customers? to themselves. Even if the customer is not being difficult, talking negatively about a customer in front of another customer does not leave a good impression of the hospital. Because I witnessed this several times across the staff, this was the part I found most disappointing, aside from the surgery itself. I cannot think of anything else in particular, so I will end the review here.
