About 6 years ago, I had double eyelid surgery with the buried-suture method. I was young and kind of clueless at the time, so I couldn’t expect much kindness from the staff. At the consultation, I brought up that I also wanted a lateral canthoplasty, but the doctor said not to do such surgery, and I was really glad to hear that. I think not doing the lateral canthoplasty, as the doctor instructed at the time, was the right choice. However, about 3 weeks after the buried-suture surgery, a white thread-like thing showed through between the double-eyelid crease, and because of that I had to go back to the operating table once more. It was clearly the hospital’s fault, but without any real apology or anything, they just said they would stitch it with one stitch and handled it that way. Four years later, the problematic part where the thread or suture had been visible folded into two lines, and now the end of that back line is almost completely gone too. This was done at the most expensive place among the clinics I consulted back then, and if I could go back, I think I would have chosen somewhere else.
