About 8 years ago I had double eyelid surgery with a small epicanthoplasty. But less than a month after the surgery, my eyes were very uneven and one side had ptosis that did not improve at all. When I insisted that something was wrong, they said to wait and see for 6 months and that the swelling would go down and things would settle. No matter how I looked at it, it did not seem like the kind of eye that would settle, and they said revision surgery would only be possible after 6 months anyway. Sigh... I was a student then, so it overlapped with interview season, which is why I remember being so annoyed. The moment 6 months passed, they said they would do the revision surgery, but then... The abnormal eye correction came undone within a few months, and about 4 years after the double eyelid surgery, the crease on the other side also came undone by about half. I regret spending money on revision surgery instead of finding a proper place from the start. Now I am preparing for marriage and want good wedding photos, so I am looking into revision surgery. Please choose your first surgery carefully.
