I went for a consultation because of jaw asymmetry. I was told that if there is asymmetry, chin movement and contour surgery alone can somewhat compensate, but in my case the asymmetry was actually minor, and the bigger issue was that my face was flat and lacked dimensionality. I was surprised because this was the first doctor who diagnosed my problem so accurately. I was told that a face lacking dimensionality needs double jaw surgery to solve the fundamental problem .. I was also told that contour surgery is a procedure that tidies up uneven lines and can create a softer image, but it does not make the face look more three-dimensional. Their detailed, expert judgment about the concerns I had gave me confidence. I liked that they didn’t push me into anything, and because I don’t need double jaw surgery for a functional problem, they told me to think it over carefully before deciding, which made me trust them even more. I went back for a follow-up consultation today after my February visit, and I was grateful that they didn’t act bothered and explained everything in detail.
