I had lower lateral canthoplasty in February 2019.
Like everyone else, I learned about it through a plastic surgery cafe, checked that the surgeon was a board-certified plastic surgeon, and went after reading only good reviews.
The director and the manager looked at my eye condition and said lower lateral canthoplasty was possible, and I had the surgery right away on the day I visited.
Personally, I think lower lateral canthoplasty is one of the hardest and most painful procedures in terms of recovery. I do not know why the recovery period is so long... Fortunately I was off work and could stay home enough, but it was still hard. On top of that, the two sides were uneven, which made it even harder. As everyone knows, even if you want revision, you have to wait six months. It is really a period where your body feels like it is producing grit.
The lucky part in all of this was that I live in the provinces, but while texting the manager about my progress, the manager arranged a reoperation for me, so I came up to Seoul right away and had revision on the right side only. Even so, the result is still uneven. But I had no side effects and it was not so badly off that it looked seriously strange, so it reached the point where I could just forget about it and move on, and I am living fine without any particular complaints now.
Ah, one downside is that if I cannot get in touch with the manager in charge, it is difficult to proceed with aftercare. My assigned manager really did not answer calls well and barely replied to texts, so it was truly frustrating. But I finished the line revision safely and am doing well.
At this point, the lower lateral canthoplasty is not even noticeable, and as long as I am not staring at the mirror intensely, nothing bothers me.
