Well, since I was a university student saving up money for surgery, I had no choice but to think about the cost.. I set the app to sort by lowest price and looked through the list, and this doctor had a long career, so after the consultation I just confirmed it the next day, canceling the other hospital.. It does not seem like a particularly famous clinic in the contouring field or anything, but honestly I chose it because it was cheap (the review-condition price). I had two contouring procedures done: zygoma reduction and chin advancement. During the consultation, because I had already watched a lot of YouTube and other sources, I wanted to hear details like what kind of osteotomy it was and how the plate fixation would be done, but the doctor only said that for the surgery they cut the bone, narrow it, and fix it... that I looked like I would get a good result... and the consultation felt like it was ending quickly, so I personally felt a bit disappointed with that part. The manager was not bad~ It has been almost a month since the surgery now, and I can really feel that the chin tip has improved a lot and I’m extremely satisfied! But as for the cheekbones, maybe because I also have a bit of flesh on my face, people around me say they do not notice a difference.. I think I’ll know after the swelling goes down, but from my perspective the 45-degree cheekbones have definitely reduced, though because of the back cheekbones and the temporomandibular joint? area, it seems less noticeable from the front, and I’m thinking that even if there is no change after all the swelling is gone, that can’t be helped. For now I need to lose weight first for a proper before-and-after comparison of whether the cheekbones actually got smaller, so I’m putting that on hold.
The swelling peaked on day 3 and then kept going down after that. I had an in-person class at school on day 6, and I even thought maybe I could just go because the swelling near my eyes had gone down if I covered everything with a mask, but my lips were swollen and the muscles around my mouth still had not fully recovered, so I could not pronounce properly and ended up not going to school haha. After a week, the awkward pronunciation was less noticeable, and after 2 weeks I returned completely to my usual way of speaking.
I had all the stitches removed in the second week, and I’m going to go back in a few days for the one-month follow-up. If there is one regret, it is that even at one month I still cannot eat a hamburger comfortably. Looking at my whole facial contour now, there is still some residual swelling overall, so it looks a bit round, but my chin has become more V-shaped, so it kind of feels more feminine. I am a man.. Anyway, it has only been one month, so I need to diet a bit and manage the swelling properly to really see the effect.
But the clinic has a lot of other doctors besides Director Im Pyeong-jin, and until the day I had the surgery there were not that many people, but now that it is peak season, it is so crowded that there are not even any empty seats in the waiting area..
