Full Gore-Tex removal possible, recommended donated dermis (Megaderm) over silicone: because the skin of the nose is already weak, removing Gore-Tex may make it even weaker, so instead of silicone for the implant, it is recommended to use donated dermis, which is safer. For weak skin like mine, and in cases where the nose is small and weak, rib cartilage is not recommended because there is a risk of collapse. The director did not recommend surgery, saying there did not seem to be any real need for it, and if I wanted it, donated dermis was recommended. Very honest, and it felt like they were sharing my concerns.
