It was silicone that had been in for 16 years, and after hearing the name of the hospital where I had the previous surgery and feeling it, they knew the material, surgical method, and thickness. (I had a CT scan done elsewhere because the thickness and shape were different, but I didn’t specifically say I had consulted somewhere else)
They tend to speak positively, and they said that silicone removal + capsule removal within the necessary range + tying the cartilage together (no dissolvable thread) + rearranging the nasal bridge cartilage would be good.
They didn’t steer me toward revision surgery and instead explained step by step what would be best to minimize risk, and they showed me photos from professional sources and explained exactly what would be done where.
I also liked that the consultation with the manager was almost nonexistent and the doctor’s consultation was kinder and longer (though I hear that’s pretty similar to other places that are known to be good at removal).
