Just as rumored, the machine caused pain like my flesh was burning, and as I writhed in agony, the director comforted me by saying it has to hurt to be effective. I got severe bruising in several places, so I covered up and went around for almost a week. Honestly, I was worried it would only hurt and not be effective, but once the bruises faded and I met a friend, they asked if I had lost weight. That’s how carefully the director did it.
