Abijou Review

When I walked in, I was first surprised because the interior was quite flashy, and there were a lot of people. There wasn't really any need to go to the desk; you just sit on the sofa and check in with a QR code. That part was convenient. Maybe because upper-lip hair removal is such a simple procedure, or because this is a factory-style clinic, I didn't even get to see the doctor's face. I just asked the counseling staff how much it was, whether it was contact or non-contact, and whether I had previously had any jaw-area surgery or procedures, then paid and waited a bit before going straight in. It was my first time at a chain-style dermatology clinic like this, and the moment I went in, I was shocked and a little scared by the huge number of beds and people. It's not a plastic surgery clinic, but it really felt like a factory conveyor belt: one procedure finished, the doctor moved to the next bed. Another one finished, then the doctor moved again. Seriously. What also caught me off guard was that I was guided to a seat and lay down, but since I'm someone who always gets skin care, I didn't know you don't wash your face for facial hair removal? They just pointed me to the seat and left lol. I mean, was it really that hard to say, 'You don't need to wash up, just lie down for a moment'... haha I asked when the doctor came while I was waiting on the bed, and they said it was fine, and since I'd washed at home and come straight over, I was like, okay okay, but next time I'll probably at least wash around my mouth in the washroom before going in. The procedure itself was quick, and since I said it was my first time, they let me try a small sting beforehand to see what it would feel like, so it was just okay. Overall, there wasn't much waiting, so it felt like it finished very quickly. The counseling staff just seemed to tell me the price, the procedure-room staff just guided me to the seat, and maybe because my expectations were low, I thought the doctor was just so-so. The front-desk staff also seemed busy, so I had to ask them to make my next appointment for me lol. It's just a textbook factory-style clinic, but seeing some regulars next to me, it seems that people who fit this fast, streamlined style go there often.
