The doctor was kind and showed me a PowerPoint presentation explaining how the surgery would be done if I decided to proceed. I studied nose surgery a lot and visited several other hospitals, so I felt like the surgical method was a bit different from the others. The biggest difference I noticed was that after making an incision in the septum to correct it, they would reinforce the septum by adding costal cartilage on both sides of it. I asked the manager, and she said it is a method that is not used often, but it is not something only this hospital does.
Anyway, my overall impression was: 1) The doctor is relatively young among private practice doctors (I consider doctors in their 40s to 43 to be young). Younger doctors almost always use autologous costal cartilage. 2) It felt like he often attends academic conferences. The surgical method is somewhat modern (it seems good, but also like its safety has not been fully evaluated). 3) The managers really like and trust the doctor. My friend and I each went on different days and got consultations from different managers, and both of them said they trust the doctor a lot and would have their own family members get surgery here.
