I had a weak chin, so I got silicone placed in the chin tip, and I am still doing well without any side effects. It has been more than 10 years, I think. Since it is silicone, I do have a fear that I will have to replace it someday, but so far there have been no side effects. I had the surgery through an intraoral incision, and when I take photos you can tell that my chin is pointy!
