I had revision nose surgery removed after 2 years. The cartilage came through the skin, and the nurses and staff stopped taking my calls. Even when I said it hurt, they just treated me like a strange person, so I had it removed at another hospital. At the other hospital, the doctor said, "How can you say it is normal when the cartilage has pierced through? What kind of doctor would tell you to just live with it?" and that such a thing could not happen, and that it had to be removed immediately. I will never forget how dumbfounded that doctor was, even though they were also a doctor.
