I went in for a consultation for lower eyelid fat repositioning, but was advised to get lower blepharoplasty instead. My age is in the early 50s. If I'm going to do it anyway, lower blepharoplasty is better than lower eyelid fat repositioning. Rather than a simple lower blepharoplasty, they recommended a procedure that also lifts the sagging cheek area, and showed me several cases. It was written as volume-up lower blepharoplasty, but after searching I found out the procedure name is midface lift. The doctor did not rush the consultation at all and was kind and detailed, but thinking about it, it also makes sense that they would naturally be thorough if they are recommending several complex procedures. lol. It was persuasive enough to seem reasonable, and the surgery did not seem difficult. The case photos were so good it almost felt excessive, so I was about to book, but I wanted to get more consultations and decide later, and in the end I did not choose it.
Because of work, I asked about the recovery period, and they made it sound like there was not much difference from lower eyelid fat repositioning, but after looking it up, that was not true. And they said something like, if they were me, they would do it this way and add more, but another clinic said cosmetic surgery should never be overdone, and that you should only do it when it is truly necessary.
It seems the extent of surgery depends on the clinic's approach. At another clinic, they said the sagging was not severe for my current age, and that if I did lower blepharoplasty now, there would be no skin left to remove when it really becomes necessary later. That persuaded me, and after searching I learned that lifting procedures are not easy and can have significant side effects, so I gave up on booking.
