I had cheek fat grafting done by Dr. Kim Ki-gap when he was at Le X in Gangnam. (My biological mother.) The cheek fat hardened and became puffy, turning my face into a frog face. I went back because of the side effects and asked for an injection to dissolve the fat, but they said I would need surgery to scrape the fat out. I had the surgery. I suffered severe side effects. My face filled with fluid and became swollen and puffy. They cut off all the nerves, so I could not even smile, and my lips would not move when I ate. My mother quit her job and became depressed. The area where the fat was scraped out is still wrinkled, and the nerves still have not recovered. Because the surgery took too long, they dissolved the other side with an injection instead, and that side is fine now.
I cannot understand why, because the patient was working and could not take time off, they insisted on surgery and said it would take only 3 days if they used a fat-dissolving injection instead. After causing the side effects, they left that hospital and opened another clinic.
I do not know whether my mom was simply unlucky or whether the surgery just did not go well that day, but thinking about the cheek fat graft side effects, the surgery to scrape out the fat, all the nerves being cut, and the fluid in her face still makes me furious.
