I had bilateral 350 cc augmentation surgery with Allergan textured implants in September 2017. During the consultation, the doctor said that even if you keep them for 10 years, you can get by with almost no side effects. In September 2021, I had removal surgery because the left implant ruptured. I had never done intense exercise or put strain on my chest. It had fully ruptured after 4 years. I asked about having the capsule removed at the time of removal, but they said there was no real need to remove the capsule. They said they do not recommend capsule removal when removing implants. Rather than explaining the patient's health or surgical side effects, they focus on whether the surgery goes well, and when it comes to the patient's later health or possible side effects, they act as if it is none of their concern.
