A review one month after philtrum reduction. I’d bet my salary this is not a broker post, not a paid post, and not a sponsored write-up. I paid for it myself and this is a genuine review. After finishing orthodontic treatment with tooth extractions, my philtrum got way too long, so I looked into philtrum reduction. The head surgeon, Dr. Lee Mina, is a solo practitioner. My chin length is 3 cm, and my philtrum length was reduced from 2 cm to 1.4 cm, so it shortened by 6 mm. The philtrum-to-chin ratio became 1:2, which is the golden ratio, so my lower face became much more beautiful and I no longer look monkey-like. I was so self-conscious about my lower face before that I wore a mask all the time because my long philtrum made me look monkey-like, but now that my philtrum is shorter and I no longer have that monkey-like look, the insecurity is gone and I go out without a mask. Since my philtrum got shorter and the surgeon added a C-line to the philtral groove, it seems to have improved the protrusion of my mouth as well. I had no side effects at all, and I was able to return to daily life right after 2 days. The scar is barely visible, and people around me say they cannot see any scar at all. I also do not worry about it when I look in the mirror.
The surgeon’s suturing was extremely meticulous and perfect, so there is almost no scar. I am very satisfied that my philtrum is shorter, but what I am happiest about is that my side-profile photos turn out really well. Even with the basic camera with zero retouching, my lower face and side profile look so pretty that taking photos is fun. The price was 163.9 for internal philtrum reduction plus 53.9 for the C-line, totaling 217.8. So far I have tried orthodontics with extractions, rhinoplasty of the nasal tip, internal philtrum reduction, and other things like chin Botox and chin filler, and this was by far the surgery I think I made the best choice to do.
