I had surgery in 2018 because of severe occipital asymmetry. In the end, I regret it. The range where bone cement could be placed was limited to begin with, so only the middle of the back of my head was filled in, and the side areas near my ears were barely filled at all, so when you touch it, the shape feels odd. It is worse than what I was told during the consultation. The middle part became more protruded, but it is so hard (harder than bone) that when they try to do a pressure massage at the hair salon, I have to pass. More than anything, every time I get a brain CT during a health checkup, I have to explain it, and it is a little embarrassing. Since it also leaves an incision scar, I would rather recommend filler for the back of the head. It is under sedation, but I also hated the scraping sensation against the bone during surgery.
