I brought a side-profile photo into the Soda app and asked them to do a touch-up so I could see what kind of surgery I should get, but they very quickly and firmly said no. So I guess the shape after surgery does not turn out the way you plan it.
They were also really vague when explaining the surgical design, which I think is because it is not something that can be predicted accurately. If I were the doctor, I would probably sketch it on an iPad. So when I asked, “Then do I just leave my head shape entirely to the doctor’s hands?” they said yes. But Doctor B said the same thing too. Still, here they at least take a photo of my head with a Canon-style camera at the start of the consultation and design while looking at it, so that part was good.
It feels like one of those games where they pour in cement and then mold it around, and if the design turns out well you are lucky, and if it does not, there is nothing you can do. That said, the after photos the director showed me all matched my aesthetic standards for head shape pretty well.
They also spoke realistically about surgical limits and honestly said I did not necessarily need to do it. Still, I was grateful that they listened to me carefully and understood what I was saying.
