They have been at St. Mary's Hospital for 17 years, so the consultation was indeed very professional. They answered every question kindly, and they explained the structure and condition of my eyes well. I had been thinking about upper canthoplasty and dual canthoplasty, but they said both were just wordplay. They explained that upper canthoplasty is a variation of front canthoplasty, and that dual canthoplasty is just widening the back corner further downward from back canthoplasty. I learned a lot of new things, and I felt they would do the back corner without side effects. The director said they do it by removing only the skin without touching the conjunctiva or ligaments, so there would be no functional side effects and it would not stick back together easily. They honestly said there was no need to do upper canthoplasty. They also explained that because my eye-opening strength is weak, it could loosen again. They felt honest and kind. But the consultation manager was so cool and so frank that, since I tend to be sensitive and worry a lot, she bluntly said I was more worried about worrying than about surgical side effects, and that startled me lol. She also said that with any kind of cosmetic surgery, side effects can happen and doctors all make mistakes, so she lowered my expectations for surgery a lot, but I liked her honesty. They also said the operation would be done under local anesthesia only. However, the director said they would not fix the conjunctiva during back canthoplasty, but the hospital website said they would, so the manager said she would check and text me, but I have not heard back. I am waiting for the text ^^
