I had surgery here about 10 years ago. During the consultation, they did not recommend epicanthoplasty at first, but on the day of surgery they said it seemed like I would need it. I said I did not want it because I thought it would change my impression, but they said it was necessary for double eyelids and would not change my impression much, so after thinking about it I went ahead. The result changed my impression, and the lacrimal caruncle became carved in more and more like a hook, like it had been scraped out, causing eye stinging and dryness. The right side was carved out more, and because I have protruding eyes, the double eyelids were set too high and became sausage-like. They were even uneven. I am now getting revision surgery to restore the epicanthoplasty, and I plan to make the double eyelids thinner again. I was so stressed for 10 years after the surgery that I looked in the mirror every day and developed social anxiety... During the revision, the surgeon even asked me if I had really had epicanthoplasty once before. They also cut the lower eyelid unnecessarily long, so every time I went in for a consultation the doctors asked why it had been cut so long... Under each eye, three stair-step incision marks appeared like wrinkles.
