I’m the person who posted a surgery review after my first and second operations, and today I went in for my three-month follow-up consultation. When I came here and saw that my review post was at the top as a best review, I thought I’d share it again in case it helps anyone~
First of all, if you look at my review from back then, I wrote that before discharge on the day of surgery, while looking at the consultation about the nose design after surgery, I was very satisfied. Three months later, I’m still doing very well and very satisfied. In fact, even compared with the day itself, when swelling was still quite present at day 8, it has become more natural while keeping the same straight bridge, so I feel good every day when I look in the mirror.
People around me keep saying my nose turned out so well, and even my boyfriend, who is quite picky, said the side line of my nose is artistic and that it turned out so well that all the worries he had completely disappeared; he likes it even more than I do lol haha.
I originally had very little swelling and it goes down easily, so I did not do much management and mostly just stayed home. By around day 8, most of the major swelling had gone, to the point that the director said my swelling had already gone down to about the level of a typical patient at the three-week mark. So from one month onward, there was not much difference from now at three months. The shape had already settled early, and I was able to spend the time without anxiety. (I think a big reason is that this was not a major reconstruction, but a simple operation with minimal materials, without an implant and without osteotomy, and also because they handled the surgery so carefully, so the recovery period ended even faster lol.)
Still, in the very early stage, my philtrum and the area around my eyes were also swollen, and my nose had been raised quite a bit. But naturally, as time passed, the swelling went down and the tissue gradually integrated, so the tip lowered just a little and the dermal graft in the bridge was absorbed. The contour that had looked as if an implant had been firmly set in the bridge has now clearly become a soft, natural line that feels like my own nose.
There was a short period when I worried that it might become too natural here, but fortunately, even after more time passed, the shape did not change any further from that point. The key is that it was made natural right up to the perfect limit, so they really create a beautifully balanced natural line.
I was relieved, and once the remaining swelling also went down, it felt like leaving the bump a little and doing it safely and naturally without an implant was the right choice a hundred times over. If you are the type who wants a lot of glamor and has very high expectations, it may be better to lower those expectations a little.
I personally do not like noses that look obviously operated on, artificial, noticeable, or overly glamorous, so the no-implant option was the best choice for me.. From the start, my eyebrows were thick and if my nose became any higher I would have started to look more masculine, so I did not want just a pretty nose by itself. I wanted a nose that matched my own features as naturally as possible, and I told the director all of that exactly. I also prepared photos and materials very well. (The director is kind and explains everything in detail, but you yourself still need to do a proper amount of research about whether a nose suits your face, and so on..! You need to objectively assess yourself and understand your own face well.)
As I also wrote in my earlier review, my skin is thin and I originally had a somewhat high bridge. But I had a hump and the tip was quite low, so from the side it was exactly that sort of nose, like a little hooked nose.
But wherever I went, I was told it was not a particularly difficult nose, and while I did not really have stress about the front view, the side profile needed improvement. At another hospital I was even told I had a fleshy nose and a pig-nose type, but since all of my eyes, nose, and mouth are fairly large, if only the nose became too slender it would have looked funny, so I did not think osteotomy or correction for a fleshy nose was really necessary.
The director here also told me that I did not have a pig-nose or fleshy nose. I cared about proportion and harmony, and I did not want only the nose to become too slim, so I asked them to make it fit my facial features. They diagnosed me with the minimum necessary materials only: no implant, a slightly reduced hump, and ear cartilage plus septal cartilage for the tip. Before that, even after reading many reviews, I felt they do not seem to do many surgeries using other materials such as rib cartilage. They said osteotomy was optional, but I was firmly against osteotomy, so it was not included.
For people exactly like me, with a hump nose, wanting side-profile improvement, liking the characteristic bridge line and beauty-line style this director creates, and preferring a natural and safe line, this seems like a hospital they would be very satisfied with. That said, because the director focuses on safety and natural results with ear cartilage and no implant, I am not sure about noses that are difficult revision cases and need even high-difficulty rib cartilage, or people who want a dramatic, very high, flashy nose. Since this place has a strong natural-style impression, I am not sure..
If I had wanted a dramatic nose, I would have hesitated a bit more about this hospital. The line itself is exactly my taste, and people who like this style will probably love it. It is truly beautiful. But it becomes naturally straight and elevated, not an extremely flashy, dramatically high nose.
I know this is a place people tend to have mixed feelings about, but for those who, like me, strongly prefer a very natural and safe result, I highly recommend it. At first glance, the front view looks extremely natural, almost as if nothing was done, while the side profile became really beautiful. But it does not give the feeling of becoming a different person, or of being artificial, or of looking obviously improved in a flashy way. It feels like, somehow, it is me, but naturally prettier? It feels like something changed? That kind of straightened look. The front view feels natural, while the side profile feels natural plus a bit glamorous? That is my personal impression!
Even after surgery, I have been living my normal life well and did not do much special care, but I took a few swelling pills and tried to walk for at least 30 minutes whenever I thought about it. I just lived carefully so I would not bump my nose, and the swelling went down well. I did not experience any side effects at all, such as inflammation, ear deformation, skin indentation, discoloration, or cartilage visibility, and I recovered without any major issues.
Also, the director is very honest and realistic, and tells you clearly what can and cannot be done. They do not say empty pleasantries. They seem to think about the patient’s future as well, so even if a patient insists and asks for something excessively high and flashy right away, the director does not seem to accept that kind of extreme request in the first place, because even if that over-the-top nose satisfies you right now, problems are likely to appear later, starting with cartilage visibility and other obvious issues. They do not like that kind of thing.
I liked even more the ethical side of not doing surgery that will obviously cause problems later. In my personal view, a doctor who draws a line and says something is not possible because they are thinking about the patient’s future is more ethical and trustworthy than a doctor who just agrees to everything and says anything can be done. And they do not waste words; they are concise, clear, and say only what needs to be said.
Anyway, hmm .. is there more to say~ Ah, and I already had some facial asymmetry, so before surgery the director told me in advance that if my nose became higher after surgery, the nose might look more crooked and uneven nostrils could stand out more, and that I needed to accept those limitations beforehand. (I was told the same thing at other hospitals too.)
Now, when I look in the mirror, unless I stare very closely to check for a crooked nose or uneven nostrils, it is so subtle that I cannot even tell. They minimized the side effects I was worried about, and I am deeply moved T_T They also refined the hump smoothly, and I like how it looks from below, from the side, and from every angle. The director kept saying my skin quality is good and that this is because I was originally pretty, and spoke to me in such a kind and cheerful way that it made the consultation feel warm and pleasant. It was really nice.
I also have rhinitis, but it is only very mild and does not bother me, so I only had an aesthetic nose surgery. Right now I do not have any nasal obstruction. After about a month, the stuffiness caused by the surgery completely cleared up.
The director, the manager, and the nurses who helped remove my stitches were all still just as kind today when I saw them.
In addition, during today’s follow-up consultation, I mentioned that I recently noticed what looked like pigmentation around my nose. I consulted about that too, and it turned out the pigmentation I thought had appeared after surgery was actually pigmentation I already had before surgery, as shown in my pre-op photos. So even though I was going to just leave, the director gave me pigmentation laser treatment anyway. They treated the area around my nose, the whole face, and even removed an extra mole lol thank you so much.. I also received a soothing mask pack in the recovery room and calmed my skin down lol nice. The interior of the hospital is also always so clean whenever I see it, and the care is great. It really feels like my perfect lifelong hospital..
And something I always feel during every consultation is that the director has a perfectionist personality and seems to have high standards. When I looked them up on video, I also saw a video where another doctor from the same training cohort talked about the director being a perfectionist. I am also a perfectionist, so I cannot tolerate even a little uncertainty or curiosity, and I bombard them with questions and worry until surgery.
If you are the type who worries a lot and is also a perfectionist, I recommend this place even more. Even after surgery, during the design consultation, the director explained things before I even had to ask everything myself, and they resolved all my questions and concerns. Just from talking to them, I could tell that they had been meticulous during the operation too, which really suited my personality.. lol I am very sensitive, suspicious, full of questions, unable to tolerate not knowing, and I need things to be perfect.
Even if I throw a barrage of questions at them, they answer everything kindly and patiently. Honestly, when I went to consultations at other hospitals, there were some directors who gave the impression that they were in a hurry because the surgery had to start soon, wanted to finish the consultation quickly, and would answer vaguely and move on. I do not think I ever felt that here with this director. They listen to everything haha.
This got long as I wrote it, but I am definitely not a broker. I also posted proof of payment, and if I am ever exposed as a broker someday, I will cut off my own limbs^^.. I am just so happy that I wrote this review, and I wrote it in case it might help someone! I paid the regular price for the surgery and do not receive anything in return for writing reviews like this, but my nose surgery was such a big success that it feels like compensation for the hard times I went through while researching hospitals. I feel good every time I look in the mirror, and I also want to thank the director a hundred times over T_T, so I am posting this sincere review lol
I do not know how others will feel, but please just read this as one successful case review. Everyone’s nose is different, and nobody knows exactly how it will turn out. Some people may feel differently. This is simply my subjective experience! If you want a natural line like I described above, I recommend this place haha.
To wrap up, I was told that the nose shape is almost complete at the current three-month stage, but I will keep watching it until six months and may post another review later~^^
