A review of a botched nose surgery and revision surgery

I'm now looking into a third surgery, and I’m writing this because the hospital that ruined my nose before seems to be getting good reviews lately, which made me angry. First surgery was in June 2020. Back then I went through 5 or 6 consultations and found a private clinic director who only did noses. He had a lot of experience, and said he did things in a natural way, not overly flashy, so I thought it matched the style I wanted. But something felt off from the start of surgery. I was lying on the operating table, and no one told me whether the anesthesia injection had been given or when it would happen. They just covered my face with a cloth and told me to keep my eyes closed and stay still. The doctor came in, talked with the nurse, and then suddenly said, “Why does this one’s eyes look like that?” making a comment about my face even though my eyes were bruised from an injection around them. Then, without saying anything, they injected my nose three times on both sides and the philtrum, and since I wasn’t anesthetized it hurt so much I screamed. Only then did they realize I hadn’t been anesthetized and hurried to put me under. Somehow the surgery ended, and on day 3 they removed the packing. Around day 5, fluid started leaking from my nose. I went to the hospital right away and had it drained, but after another 3 or 4 days it filled up again, and the tip of my nose started turning red and peeling. After draining it a total of 4 times, we eventually decided to remove everything inside. (I found out later while visiting other hospitals that no matter where I went, they all said too much of my nasal bone had been shaved down. Everyone kept asking if I had had a severe hump, but outwardly my nose never had a hump.) As soon as it was removed, contracture set in, and I lived with a contracted nose for over a year. Then in November 2021 I decided to get revision surgery at the same hospital as an after-service procedure. But even during the revision consultation, they spoke as if they were doing me a favor because they felt bad that I was having a hard time, and that started another argument. From the beginning, this hospital had always shifted responsibility, saying that only side effects appearing within a week of surgery were surgical problems, and anything after that was a patient-management issue. But in my case, the side effect appeared within 5 days. After the revision, even with the tape and splint on, you could see my nose was crooked. The doctor said it might just be swelling and told me to wait, but in the end it really was crooked. The supporting cartilage under the nose had collapsed, and the cartilage at the tip had completely rotated. I didn’t want to keep fighting over this anymore, so I eventually got a refund plus compensation for other costs and left. Of course side effects are partly unpredictable, but I really hope people choose their hospital very carefully.
