Hello! I had been worried about my underbite for a long time, so after being advised to have surgery at the orthodontic clinic, I started visiting hospitals in person and comparing options. I went to consultations at several places, but I decided on surgery at the oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic that explained everything most clearly and felt the most trustworthy.
It has already been 3 months since the surgery. Since it was such a major operation, I was worried, but I was surprised that the pain was not as bad as I expected! Recovery was also quick. I started eating little by little from day 5, and by day 7 my condition was good enough that I was already eating regular meals.
What I am most satisfied with is definitely my facial line. Once the protruding jaw was brought in, my impression became much softer and more natural. Now that the underbite is gone, my side-profile line feels neatly refined. Lately, I can take photos without worrying about angles, and even casual selfies turn out so well that I am happy. People around me also keep telling me my face looks smaller.
It was such a major surgery, so I would be careful about recommending it outright, but if you are someone who is stressed because of a complex like mine, I think it is worth thinking it through and challenging yourself if you feel ready!
