It had been about 6 years since my first surgery, and because I had a very high hump and a large nose, I wanted a smaller nose, so I had osteotomy and just slightly lifted the nasal tip with septal cartilage! Butㅠㅠ I don’t know if it was supported incorrectly, but it became extremely crooked, and the asymmetry was so severe that I wondered if I could even breathe through one side of my nose. I just lived with it somehow, but then I thought, I should do it before I get older! So I had it done this time!

That’s what was used. I really, really hated the thought of having side effects no matter what, so actually, even during my first surgery, silicone was recommended, but I didn’t do it. This time, since it was a revision surgery, I thought and worried about it even more and more, and I wasn’t planning to use AlloDerm on the bridge, but since my existing nose had been shaved unevenly, I thought it would probably be aesthetically necessary, so I decided to put it in!
Actually, there aren’t that many reviews of autologous costal cartilage, so I was really worried!! I did at least read quite a lot of reviews in this community, so I’m writing this hoping it can help too hehe!!
First of all, they said that when doing autologous costal cartilage surgery, this hospital first removes the costal cartilage, observes the degree of warping for about 30-40 minutes, and then proceeds! They said that warping is often mentioned as a side effect, where the costal cartilage bends after being inserted, and to prevent that as much as possible, they check the degree of bending in advance and design it before using it.
Actually, warping was what I was most worried about. It is a safe material, but since my first surgery left my nose crooked and that was hard for me, I was very worried. But they explained that part well, so I think I trusted them and went ahead!
And pain!! This was the part I was most worried about, hmm. It feels stiff, I can’t straighten my back well, and it’s hard to sit down and get up? But honestly, I think the pain is at a level where I can tolerate it. It may be because it hasn’t even been a full day yet!
Even though I have a splint now and it’s wrapped with gauze too, I feel at ease. I feel like it went well! There were so many bad reviews about ㅁㅇㄷ here that I was worried, and I can’t say for sure that it’s good, but I don’t think it’s bad. CCTV viewing is available, and the refund policy and aftercare terms feel clearly explained? But I recorded all my consultations and my parents came with me, so I think they paid more attention.
I don’t know what will happen from now on, and side effects could occur, but for now I’m satisfied, and since I feel like the side effects or aftercare parts were made clear, I’m not anxious!
