First, the reason I had my mom get LAMS on her upper arms was her stress. She did have some fat on her upper body, but her upper arms stood out so much because they looked bulky and had a lot of fat, so she could never wear tight-fitting clothes. My mom would habitually say to me, “Look at my upper arms. Don’t they look like Popeye’s?” She said things like that so often.. haha From my perspective, I wondered, “Is LAMS really necessary?” But as my mom got older, it got harder and harder for her to lose it, and she was so stressed about it. So I decided, okay, let’s just have the procedure done for her. I debated between liposuction and LAMS, but after looking around here and there, including this community, liposuction seemed to require rest. But my mom is self-employed, so she can’t close the store and take time off work. So we decided on LAMS, which lets her work from the next day after the procedure, and I was also more drawn to it because it uses local anesthesia on the treatment area!!! (My mom is really scared of sleep anesthesia)!!!
The procedure took about 2 hours, and I think it took longer because she had unlimited LAMS. When I asked my mom about the sensation and pain, she said rather than being extremely painful, the tight, firm feeling from the anesthesia + swelling was uncomfortable, and even clothing brushing against it gave her chills, so she wouldn’t even let me come near her.. lol Still, she said it wasn’t painful, so I felt a bit relieved!
There was a little bruising on the same day, and I also attached a photo from 5 days later. How is it? Does it look like it changed a bit???? Both my mom and I are satisfied with the procedure, but I think we need to watch the changes a bit more!!! (Hope the money was worth it..!)
