Written in order 1. ㅇㅇㅂ I booked because I just wanted to get double-eyelid surgery over with quickly, and I heard same-day reservations were possible? So I thought maybe a slot had opened up and went ahead right away. After arriving, I waited for over an hour. I thought that could happen. It was peak season too.. and most plastic surgery clinics in Seoul have waiting times anyway. But they were really busy.
When it was finally my turn and I went in, the consultant came in first and asked whose eyes I wanted, recommended this and that, and said I would meet the director. But the director did not come, and the consultant came in again.
Then the second consultant basically asked what I wanted without even showing example photos or saying to bring them out, so when I said I wanted double eyelids like a subtle inner fold, they said they would do incision double-eyelid surgery with ptosis correction. Something like this, something like that would work. When I asked whether I needed canthoplasty too, they said if I wanted it, I could do it, and that it was optional.. It felt like they were not very interested in whether an epicanthoplasty would suit my condition or not. It was over in about 2 minutes.. I thought I would meet the director, but the consultant came in again. They just said that much and told me to call if I wanted to proceed, and they would give me a business card... I am not trashing this clinic. I also really want double-eyelid surgery right now as a man.. But their attitude was seriously ridiculous. If they took the reservation, doesn’t that mean there was space? I did not want to hear the consultant’s judgment, and even that was over in 2 minutes.. for both of them. It was not even at the level where I needed to seriously think about it. I just figured I went to Seoul for a change of scenery. They did not even tell me the price.. feels like a strange place.
2. ㅇㅇㅂ Bae Inho The clinic building was insanely huge. Seoul-area places like Seocho are all very modern and urban, but this building was really massive.. Anyway, here I got seen earlier than expected because I miscalculated the time, but I did end up getting the consultation earlier than the time I had requested. Here too they did not ask for photos of who I wanted to resemble, but after looking around a bit, I realized you cannot just choose someone’s eyes and become that person’s eyes. So when they asked what style I wanted, they also recommended incision double-eyelid surgery with ptosis correction.
Then I met the director, who also used some tool like a toothpick on my eyes to mark the double-eyelid line and again recommended incision double-eyelid surgery with ptosis correction.. So I was curious and asked, based on what I had read, whether ptosis correction is only for true ptosis. Since I seemed to have pseudo-ptosis, did I really need it? They said it is actually more common for true and pseudo cases to be hard to distinguish, and even if they did it, they would keep it minimal, like 2 strands? or 2 sutures? so it would be fine. And above all, lol, they said I have a lot of upper eyelid fat and kind of dull-looking eyes, so for eyes like mine, the most important thing is to make sure it does not loosen.. And, well, they probably had sales motives too, but after marking my eyes with the tool, they said it looked like it would come out pretty well.. That does not make it 100% convincing. Anyway, that was that, and because I am a man, they said they would make the inner fold so subtle that it would barely show, almost like no visible double eyelids, only a slight hint at the outer end. I do not know, I did not exactly feel fully reassured, so I feel a bit mixed. I mentioned that I had seen too many posts about ptosis-correction side effects, and they said those cases are really extremely rare. They said many people come in asking about that based on internet knowledge, but if it is not necessary, they do not recommend it anyway.
After the final consultant meeting, it was time to leave, and they explained the surgery process first, then said that with the event price they would offer a discount if I wrote a review on some cosmetic surgery app and agreed to it being public.. That felt a little off. Unlike other clinics, they brought up first that I would need to personally write an ad-style post on an app.. And they said if I did not book within a few days after the consultation, I would lose the discounted price.. so I hurried and put down a tentative reservation that I could still get refunded, then left.. Hmm. I saw real reviews on the app and it did not seem bad, but I am still thinking about it. Lastly, I asked whether I could also do canthoplasty later, and they said to get the ptosis correction first and then see the result, so it did not feel like they would just do anything if I asked.. That part was not too bad... It was a bit expensive, 250? After various discounts, roughly 190.
3. ㅁㅎ Yun Jeong-won As with all Seoul-area plastic surgery clinics, I waited close to an hour after going there. When I went in, I got the consultant meeting first, and compared with the others, it felt a little more familiar and friendly. They noticed my piercing and said something like it looked fine.. I just said I was being a little rebellious ㅋ Here they asked in more detail than expected. What style did I want? If I were to do it, they would do incision double-eyelid surgery with ptosis correction (every place I went said the same thing;;) They showed me review photos, looked for similar eyes, and said it would probably turn out like this.. It was that kind of formal back-and-forth, and then I met the director. The director also used a tool on my eyes to mark the double-eyelid line and said my eyes looked like they would be fine with the procedure above.. They also said the line was not bad, and the same thing again... They also explained how the surgery would proceed. Since men want invisible double eyelids anyway, they said they would keep it small, like an inner fold that would not stand out. I also asked about epicanthoplasty because my Mongolian fold was a little rounded. But since the inner eye line and the side of my nose were already in a straight line, they said if they did it, the eyes could end up too close together.
After that conversation ended, I did feel that the consultation with the director was somewhat short. Then during the consultant meeting here too, they talked about discounts on the condition of making my eye photos public. Well, up to this point everything was the same, so I just took it as is. Then they asked where I had been, and when I said where I had gone, they said things like some places are not really popular these days, and when I said there was a clinic where I had not even met the director, they were very surprised, and they said some place was a bit expensive, talking like they had some connection to those clinics. They also said what the original price was and how much more they would discount for me. I do not know why. When I said I was thinking up to 200, they said they would factor that in and give me a bit more of a discount.. And at the end they asked whether they should set a surgery date, but when I said I would look around a bit more, they said okay. But you are not going to do it here anyway.. Something like that? Hmm 190 after discount.
4. ㅇㅇㄴㅋ Yang Hae-won I was surprised because the building was about the size of a house. The location was not in a crowded metropolitan area either, so at first I thought it was just a private home.
Here, both the consultant and the director were very relaxed and friendly. They did not rush through questions and were very calm and composed. Of course, here too.. they recommended incision double-eyelid surgery with ptosis correction.. I guess I am destined to get incision double-eyelid surgery with ptosis correction. When I asked why ptosis correction was necessary, they said if I only got double-eyelid surgery, my sleepy-looking eyes could end up with just a double eyelid and become ambiguous. But if the patient wants it, they can do it, though they do not recommend not doing ptosis correction. Here too, when I asked about epicanthoplasty, they said my inner eye line was already vertical with the side of my nose, so if they did it, my eyes could end up slightly too close together. So they did not recommend it here either.
In terms of price, the discount rate felt a bit low. It was definitely noticeably more expensive than the others. The atmosphere was somehow relaxed, so I looked at a lot of before-and-after photos, but there was nothing that really stayed in my memory. Ah, when I asked about a discount condition for making my eye photos public during the consultation, there were not many eye photos shown, so when I asked about that, they said they had already collected enough reference material ? With discount, 215
ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ
Honestly, as a review, it really just depends on my eye condition and I would need to see different results, but surprisingly all four places gave the same diagnosis... so I am wondering what the point is of doing more clinic-hunting right now. I have made more reservations and plan to visit a little more in the future, but.. I do not know. I feel like it will be the same no matter where I go lol. Personally, after going around and doing some clinic-hunting myself, I think it is not bad to judge while looking at the actual before-and-after photos posted by the clinics. If the diagnosis results all come out the same.. And it is also important to check whether the after photos were taken with makeup on or not...
This is what I found by going around myself.
