It had been a few years since I had my nose done, but since I didn’t have contracture or inflammation, I just lived with it. But my face gradually started looking strange to me, I was only getting stressed, and once I started finding one odd-looking part after another, I began looking into revision surgery! Especially because my nasal tip is slightly upturned, my nostrils show a lot, and that started to look strange too. So I set my criteria as nose revision surgery + upturned nose correction with a moderately glamorous nose line, and for the surgical method or material choice, I didn’t decide firmly in advance because I wanted to hear what the directors recommended.
I thought that no matter how much I researched online, I wouldn’t get an answer, and that I’d understand better after going for consultations. After going around to the consultations, the information about each clinic definitely became clearer, but I feel like I’ve become even more confused about where I should do it..
When I first looked into Be The New, it was called Konopi, but in the meantime the name changed, and since it was a place my friend had gone to before, I only heard my friend’s story and was planning to go for a consultation together, so I didn’t research it that much before going. There was a bit of a wait for the consultation, and the director seemed to say that a glamorous style would be okay too. It felt like they did a lot of functional nose surgery. Nose Lab was a place I wanted to consult at because they said they do closed revision rhinoplasty. Since I had only experienced open surgery, doing it closed seemed new, and I went because I heard they are good at shaping the nasal tip for upturned noses or contracted noses. I think the wait was the longest ㅠ Still, both the consultant and the director explained closed revision rhinoplasty in some detail, so it was easy to understand.
At Chiu, I was wondering which director to consult with, then specifically requested Director Chun. They said revision surgery with costal cartilage is possible, but the atmosphere didn’t feel like they recommended it. At other places, when I said I liked a glamorous look, they mainly recommended costal cartilage, but here I got the feeling they preferred natural materials like implant-free surgery and dermis? It’s not that they don’t use autologous costal cartilage, but if you want a natural style, I think it could be okay.. I also went to Louvre because I heard they do a lot of revision surgery using autologous costal cartilage, and I couldn’t book right away, so I had to match the schedule. There were many reviews on apps and such, so it was convenient to check those, and the consultant was kind.
Among the places I visited, Nose Lab and Louvre seem okay.. But I still have 2 more clinic consultations left (Objet, Yoo Won-il), so I’m not at the decision stage yet, but I do have a lot more to think aboutㅠㅠㅠㅠㅜㅠㅜㅠ
Each has its pros and cons, and after going around, I do think that if I want the glamorous style I prefer and correction of an upturned nose, focusing on costal cartilage seems right. I tried to summarize it, but I wonder if it got a bit long! Maybe because I know more than I did for my first surgery and have more things to worry about, I definitely feel like I’m becoming more cautious in choosing a clinic ㅠㅠ
