I went for a follow-up consultation. I feel much better and more certain now.
The consultation details were:
I had rhinoplasty 6 years ago, and after that surgery my nostrils were subtly uneven, my nose was upturned, and I even had a hump, so I was considering revision rhinoplasty. I said that the current bridge height is okay, so if the silicone has to be replaced, I’d like to keep about this height. I also said I don’t want the nasal tip to be too upturned or too droopy, and if possible, since I slightly have a bulbous nose, I’d like to improve that a little too.
I had taken CT images before, so I didn’t take them this time and just had the consultation. Maybe because it was before the holiday, there were quite a lot of people, but I waited about 5 minutes? 10 minutes? Around that, then immediately had a consultation with the manager, a consultation with the director, and then another consultation with the manager.
The manager was wearing a mask, so I don’t know exactly, but she had a cute look, seemed young, and the way she pinpointed exactly what I wanted made her seem very experienced too. I’m not sure if I’m right though.
The director’s consultation was long when I went before too, and this time he also consulted with me for quite a long time. The director’s points were that the silicone in the nasal bridge seems to be about 3-4 mm, and he would remove it and make it the same height. For the nasal tip, he said that if autologous costal cartilage is used, it definitely has the strength to support the tip, so it does not drop easily and is easier to shape into the desired form. He also said that for a short nose, costal cartilage is more effective for improvement than ear cartilage or septal cartilage. Also, since I have a hump nose and the nose is slightly deviated, he would improve those, improve it into a straight-to-slightly-curved line, improve the nostrils too... sigh, so this is the condition of my nose..ㅠㅠ
He also explained the difference between donated costal cartilage and autologous costal cartilage. I heard it, but my memory is... The important thing is that autologous costal cartilage supports the nasal tip more firmly...ㅎ
