Forehead lift in my early-to-mid 20s, 4-month review (super long)

I’ll write casually for easier talking

When I was looking for information before getting it done, forehead lift info was surprisingly hard to find, so I’m leaving this here. I’m not a broker, and I won’t tell you which hospital it was

I had a forehead lift about 4 months ago. To just talk about the surgical result first, it’s only been 4 months, so it might be too early to judge already, but I think it went well. I do kind of want it pulled up more dramatically, but that’s just my own greed because I want my double-eyelid line higher, and all the functional problems are gone I’m satisfied even now It seems like a surgery that needs a longer recovery period than expected Even now, when I lie on my side, if my temple gets pressed it hurts, so I only turn enough to lie on my side up to the point where my temple isn’t pressed

The incision sites were 3 places on the scalp near the hairline (covered by hair so they’re not very visible), and 2 places on both temples (where the baby hairs are), 5 total

1 month - Until then, my eyes looked unnatural. When sleeping, my eyes also didn’t close tightly well, so it bothered me, and the forehead-tightness symptoms were severe Personally, the pain was comparable to a severe migraine Even when I tried to put strength into my eyebrows, the strength didn’t go in well, and it felt uncomfortable When washing my hair, my scalp hurt like it was bruised, so I could only do it extremely gently (For the surgery, they dissected from the forehead to the crown of the head. That area hurts) The wounds around my temples also hurt and bothered me, so I washed my face while avoiding that area

2 months - My forehead came down a bit, so my eyes returned to my own eye shape The symptoms from month 1 faded a bit. Still, the forehead tightness was severe Even while eating, my forehead felt so tight that I held my forehead It still hurt when washing my hair. I also washed my face while avoiding the temples, so I got a lot of breakouts around the hairline and temples. Damn lol

3 months - Just my own eye shape. Only the double eyelids changed. My eyes closed well when sleeping. During the day it was okay, but around nighttime there was forehead tightness My hair started falling out (it was something I heard during the consultation, so I knew about the issue, but it still felt upsetting. They said it would start falling out around month 3 and all grow back within 1 year. It seems like the hair falls out and grows back again because the hair roots weakened from poor blood circulation?)

Current - At night, there’s only very faint forehead tightness. If I do something else, it’s to the point I don’t notice it Now my eyebrows go up well even when I raise them. There is still a bit of an uncomfortable feeling When shampooing, the crown area barely hurts anymore. The incised hairline area still hurts, so I do it gently The temples also hurt if touched, but now I wash my face well up to the hairline and temples too. Gently, of course Hair loss is the same

-The process? Or the reason I got it done

I’m in my early-to-mid 20s, but back when I got double-eyelid surgery in high school, I also had ptosis correction, and the director said my eyes could absolutely not be fixed with ptosis correction alone and told me to get a forehead lift later. At the time I was like, what are they talking about? But even though my eye-opening strength improved after double-eyelid surgery, I kept opening my eyes with my forehead (it felt like my eyebrows weren’t positioned on the brow bone and had come down lower. Maybe because the space between my eyes and eyebrows was narrow too, if I relaxed my forehead, strength went into my eyes fine, but my upper eyelids pressed down on my eyes and covered my pupils, so my eyes felt too heavy and became triangular). After about 8 years, by the evening it became hard even to open my eyes with my forehead, and my eyes wouldn’t open well, so I really went to get a forehead lift...

First, while looking for reviews and information, there weren’t many cases like mine where someone wanted a forehead lift for functional problems. Cases aside, there were so many posts saying “If you’re young, absolutely don’t do it!” so it was hard to search. There are cases like mine where it’s necessary, but it seems like people say not to do it when you’re young for cosmetic reasons, because most people do it to make their double-eyelid line show better rather than for functional issues I went after seeing a YouTuber with a case similar to mine whose surgery went well, and while searching this hospital it seemed okay, so I didn’t even go around for consultations elsewhere and decided on this place. In conclusion, I think it went well Now I can open my eyes well without using strength in my forehead My eyes don’t become triangular either, and they open roundly lol

At first, it was really hard physically and mentally. It was the hardest surgery I’ve hadㅠㅠ The bandage on my head was tight, my eyes wouldn’t close, they stung, the pain was so strong, and no matter how I lay down it was uncomfortableㅠ Everyone else seems to just get ptosis correction even if they have ptosis and it turns out well, but for me even that wasn’t enough, and as I get older it’ll sag again anyway I felt so wronged and sad that I had to go as far as a forehead lift, so I cried a lot. It seems like with any surgery, after cosmetic surgery, the period up to 1 month is when your mind gets really shaken

Now that I’ve recovered quite a lot, I’m living fine~ What I’m worried about is whether my hair will grow back? haha............. lol The reason I wrote this post is not to recommend forehead lifts. I’m sure there are people who are severe like me and truly need a forehead lift, but it wasn’t easy to find reviews, so I’m posting this in case it helps even a little.
