I didn’t know this, but apparently my previous surgery included silicone in the nasal bridge, two layers of ear cartilage at the tip, and ear cartilage inserted as a columellar strut.. The surgeon who operated on me said he used only silicone and ear cartilage at the tip, so I had understood it that way for 15 years. But while consulting for complete removal this time, an ultrasound showed that ear cartilage had been inserted into the columellar strut.. I’m shocked.. Why is ear cartilage put in a columellar strut? From visiting clinics, I heard that because ear cartilage is naturally curved, at least two pieces must be used as a strut, but I thought I probably had only one piece in there.. What is the role of this strut? If it is removed, will my nose become upturned? My natural nose was originally short, small, and somewhat upturned
