Since I was young, I had been self-conscious about the slight bulge under my eyes. Whenever I looked at photos, shadows appeared especially under my eyes, making me look more tired It became much worse directly under lighting, and hearing friends ask, “Why do you look so tired? Is something wrong?” every time they saw me was quietly stressful. I tried various concealers, but although they covered the skin tone, they couldn't hide the unevenness under my eyes, so it was all still visible! I started researching lower-eyelid fat repositioning, but at first I was hesitant. Most of the reviews I found on Instagram and YouTube were from older people, so I wondered whether it was really okay to have this surgery already as a young person just starting work, and whether I was being overly sensitive! But as I kept searching, I found quite a few reviews from people my age who had surgery because their under-eye fat had been prominent since childhood, so I began researching properly too. After looking around, I went for a consultation at [Clinic A] and met Dr. Kang In-ho. He explained that the fat under my eyes had descended, making it look thick and also making my dark circles appear worse. I was worried about recovery, but he said that because I was still in my early twenties, recovery should be relatively easy. I was slightly worried that I might be pushed to add unnecessary procedures, but I liked that he seemed to recommend only what was truly needed after examining my current under-eye condition, without overtreatment. After the consultation, I understood why my eyes had looked so tired, so I scheduled the surgery right there. I was worried about pain on the day, but it was better than expected. My under-eyes were very swollen, so looking in the mirror felt awkward. For about two or three days, I wore a hat and took light walks, and after about a week, the swelling and bruising had clearly decreased a lot. It hasn't completely settled yet, so I'll watch the residual swelling a little longer, but it was amazing to see that my under-eyes no longer looked bulging as before and had been smoothed out overall!
