I finally had my labia minora trimmed after deliberating for 10 years. There are not many reviews about this, so I thought this might help someone! It is still the day of surgery, but I am very satisfied, lol. I will write another review after a month.
1. Reason I had known since high school that my labia minora were long. After becoming an adult, they would get pulled in during sex, which was uncomfortable. When I wore leggings to exercise, they kept getting caught, so I had to pull them out from time to time, T_T. Even wearing ordinary pants was irritating; when I sat down, one side would get pinched. During my period, because they were so long, I had to fold both sides over while washing, T_T T_T T_T. I was afraid of surgery, so I did not have it done, but after entering my thirties, they seemed to have stretched more. After exercising or riding a bicycle, it hurt so badly because the skin was rubbed raw. It even bled, T_T. So I decided they had to be removed, T_T.
2. Choosing a clinic I found it annoying to look at many places, and I only needed to solve this discomfort, so I went with the clinic that appeared most often when searching: [Clinic A], which has a fixed price of 1.8 million won. I have phone anxiety, but they also offered text consultations! I texted that I wanted the earliest possible surgery date, and they said same-day consultation and surgery were possible, so I booked it right away. However, they said sedation would be difficult if I was taking Mounjaro, so I stopped the injections for a week, rescheduled, and had the surgery today, haha. They explained everything in great detail by text, which was nice because I did not have to call. They said the price is fixed regardless of the severity of clitoral hood laxity.
3. Preparation Bring your ID, and definitely wear very loose elastic-waist pants! Hair removal is unnecessary; they said they only trim the areas needed for surgery. They told me not to use cold packs, warm packs, or sitz baths, so the ice pack I bought was useless, T_T. The useful thing I prepared was a donut cushion! I am sitting on it in the passenger seat now, and it is so comfortable. Definitely buy one! After the surgery, when I picked up my medicine at the pharmacy, I also asked for painkillers in advance and bought two packs. I brought glasses too, but they said the surgery takes about an hour, so I did not need to remove my contacts. I also brought extra underwear, but afterward I was scared and just wore pants without underwear, T_T T_T. The clinic gave me a sanitary pad just in case.
4. The procedure My surgery was at 10 a.m., and I had been fasting since 2 a.m., so it was not difficult. The clinic is a little cramped; there are only two parking spaces, but fortunately I was the first surgery of the day and there were no cars, so parking was easy. After checking in, I immediately consulted with the doctor. I had seen many reviews saying the doctor seemed robotic, so I wondered about that, but he explained things just like in those reviews, haha. I sat in the examination chair, and they took frontal, left, and right photos of my labia minora. Looking at the photos, the doctor said I was at least stage 4 on a scale of 1 to 5, haha. It felt like he did not say stage 5 because he did not want to hurt my feelings, T_T T_T T_T. The doctor has a patent for a micro-sculpting laser. He usually does not need to suture, but for severe labial hypertrophy like mine, he said he uses some dissolvable sutures. He explained for about 10 minutes while showing photos of other patients, but everyone seemed less severe than me, T_T. My clitoral hood was also elongated, so he said that area would be trimmed too. The lower part of my labia minora was also elongated and would need trimming. He said the asymmetry and uneven levels made it fairly complicated. After signing the surgical consent form, I followed the nurses' instructions, tied up my hair, changed clothes, and lay down on a warm bed. They thoughtfully told me to use my phone, T_T. They started my IV, and while I was using my phone, a very extroverted anesthesiologist came in and asked me various questions, lol. Then I moved to the operating room right next door. I sat in the examination chair, put on an oxygen mask, and lay down. They said, “We’ll start now,” and injected the anesthetic into the IV. My throat and nose felt cool, my vision blurred, and when I opened my eyes, it was over! They said they would give me sedation plus another injection of anesthesia in the buttocks. Maybe because of that, when I opened my eyes, the main sensation was that my private area felt numb. It could also have been because the anesthesia had not fully worn off. They moved me to the recovery room and told me to sleep for about two hours, but I could not sleep, so I pressed the call button after 30 minutes. The nurse explained the precautions, such as no sitz baths or hot/cold compresses, haha. Then the doctor came to check the surgical site and took me to his office. Looking at photos of my private area, he said the surgery had gone well. It really looked neatly and nicely shortened, T_T. I was satisfied. After receiving the prescription, I went to the pharmacy, picked up the medicine, and that was it! My husband came to pick me up, but I do not recommend going home alone, T_T. It did not hurt as much as expected, but I was a little scared to take a taxi in case something went wrong, lol. I put the donut cushion on the passenger seat, went out for sushi, and walked a little. Walking was more comfortable than expected. Since I had suffered so much from getting my labia minora pinched before, it hurt much less than I expected, haha. They said it might hurt after one or two weeks when sensation returns, T_T T_T T_T T_T, so I am worried. It has only been the day of surgery, but I am already extremely satisfied and wish I had done it sooner, T_T. Regardless of the appearance, I am walking now and the uncomfortable pinching sensation has disappeared immediately. I had surgery, but I keep wondering, “Can the groin really feel this refreshed?” I am scheduled for a follow-up in two weeks. For now, the incision looks slightly seared by a laser, and they said the scabs will gradually fall off and heal. If you have questions, leave a comment. I will answer as much as I know~!!
