My short-looking eyes before and after were a complex of mine, so I looked into several hospitals that are good at posterior lower canthoplasty. I chose this place because they said the opened area would not re-adhere, and it was widened refreshingly well in the eye shape I wanted. During the consultation with the director, he explained the method of how he would widen the eyes, and told me to ask anything I was curious about, but I didn’t have any questions so I didn’t ask. I left the design to the director, so I’m not really sure about it.
For the surgery, they did sedation anesthesia first and then local anesthesia. I don’t know if the anesthesia wore off quickly for me, but it hurt a little during the surgery. On day 1, something like a blood vessel in my eye burst, so my eye stayed red until day 4, and from day 5 it gradually got better. I think it was all healed and gone by day 10. They told me not to glance sideways with my eyes, so I tried not to, but when I accidentally glanced sideways sometimes, my eyes hurt. After the second round of stitch removal, it didn’t hurt even when I glanced sideways. I think my eyes felt much more comfortable. When I came out after surgery, my eyes hurt a little, but after sleeping a bit and waking up, all the pain was gone. Tears kept coming out, so it was a bit uncomfortable, but now everything is fine. I’m completely satisfied with the surgery. Because I had small, narrow eyes, my eyes looked stuffy, but now they’re opened up clearly and look refreshed, so I like it. My parents also asked at first why I was doing it, but now they like it and say my eyes got really big.
