I had consultations at both hospitals because they perform facial contouring and lift surgery together. This is a case where I got lift consultations due to concerns about side effects from facial contouring surgery in people in their 40s or older.
Hospital name: ㄹㅂㅇ Consultant: Director Jung ㅈㅇ Consultation fee: 0 won One doctor performs both facial contouring and a full facial lift. They operate in a way that preserves the retaining ligaments connected to the zygomatic bone. A characteristic is that the incision is made along the line in front of the ear. They said this is more effective for excising excess skin and pulling it than making the incision behind the protruding part in the middle of the ear. I liked that the doctor was kind, calm, and explained everything thoroughly and well. My satisfaction after the consultation was high, but it felt strange that there were fewer waiting patients than at other hospitals. There also aren’t many consultation reviews, so I’m still thinking about it. For reference, the cost was the highest among the 4 places I consulted. So maybe that’s why there are fewer patients..

They recommended surgery to a safe and moderate extent rather than aiming for a dramatic effect. At the other 3 hospitals, I was recommended facial contouring + a full lift excluding the neck, but here they said that even just a SMAS volume lift (incision only above the sideburn) could compensate to some extent for side effects after facial contouring. They said that if the patient’s expectations are high, that alone might still be unsatisfactory, so it feels a bit ambiguous. Doing only a SMAS volume lift feels less mentally burdensome, and since there is no incision in front of the ear, recovery would be faster, which is nice, but.. I feel like there will be quite a lot of remaining skin after square jaw + cheekbone facial contouring, so I’m worried that a full lift may be unavoidable within 1–2 years. I’m in my 40s and my square jaw is on the wide side, so I wonder if just a SMAS volume lift (upper-face mini lift) would be enough.
