On January 18, 2023, I had surgery for my lifelong assignment, a crooked bulbous nose. The crooked nose was an issue, but it was a completely bulbous nose too.. I had been going to consultations for 3 years.. I finally made up my mind, had a consultation last November, and got it done this year. First, they used ear cartilage and silicone. I had a surgery where they tied the nasal tip cartilage and held the alar base with threads? Something like that. During the consultation, they said they would do an incisional reduction for alar reduction, but after shaping the nasal bridge, they said that if they did an incisional alar reduction, my nostrils would probably become too small, so they only pulled them in with threads. I like the alar reduction and nasal tip shape right now, but I’ve seen posts saying it can loosen, soㅠ The swelling was severe, so I wore the splint for 2 weeks, and now in week 3 I feel like I can finally live, but my nose still has no sensation, and the pulled-in alar area may loosen someday.. I keep feeling disappointed that it doesn’t have that sharp, slim look.. Am I just being endlessly greedy..
