10 years ago, I had double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty for 3 million won. At that time, the sedation was too strong, and I am not sure if they did not give local anesthesia, but while sedated I had a dream that my body got caught in gears and was being ground up. As I woke up from sedation, it hurt so, so much that because of that memory, I never wanted to have surgery again. The ptosis stayed the same, my eyes were uneven, and I ended up with sausage eyelids, so doing eyebrow makeup and eye makeup was very hard, but I could not even dream of revision surgery...
As time passed, every time I took photos, my eyes looked dull, so I did not even want to take pictures. As a result, I did not have many photos left, and it hit me really hard. I regretted it a lot, thinking I was much better before I did it.
Five years later, I gathered courage and made an appointment at an oculoplastic clinic, but as the surgery date approached, I once canceled because of my fear of unbearable pain...
Now, 10 years later, I gathered courage once again and did a lot of online research. I am the type who gets more confused the more consultations I get (easily swayed), so I picked only three places and had consultations. After careful consideration, I finally chose one place and had the surgery.
Surprisingly, it was not a surgery that hurt that much? They sedated me, gave local anesthesia, and during surgery I woke up from sedation and they had me open and close my eyes, but I was surprised because it really did not hurt. After surgery, I took medicine right away and left for home, so maybe because of that, it did not hurt at all either.
During my old double eyelid surgery, I had dark blue bruising from my eyes to my cheekbones, even the whites of my eyes burst with blood, and the swelling was so bad that for about a month I could not move around at home. This time, maybe because I took the medicine well or because the director did a good job, there is almost no bruising, and the swelling seems to be going down fairly quickly, so returning to daily life has been easy, which is really nice.
However, I am worried because the double eyelids look slightly uneven. But the director said, as if it were totally natural, that it is only day 7 and the swelling has not fully gone down yet, so I should watch it a little longer. For now, I plan to keep watching.
For swelling, I managed it by taking Sinecch that I bought from the clinic, buying 5 extra bottles of Elas-A from the pharmacy, and drinking pumpkin tea often.
