Now that I am entering my second month after surgery, the crease has definitely become natural in a completely different way from the one-month mark lol. Time really flies haha. I was already having my second revision in my early 20s, so honestly, even right before lying down on the operating table, I was always anxious about what if I did not get the look I wanted this time either.
Around July 2024, I had non-incisional ptosis correction and medial epicanthoplasty at another hospital, but the crease was made too high and thick, leaving it puffy and pinched like what people commonly call sausage eyelids T_T. Not only without makeup, but even when I tried to cover it with makeup, just my eyes stood out so awkwardly that I cannot even describe how stressed I was every time I looked in the mirror T_T.
Thinking this really had to be the last time, I researched revision eyelid surgery extremely carefully, then went to [Clinic A] after seeing that Dr. Hwang Ho was said to be good at lowering overly created creases and treating scars. As soon as we sat face-to-face at the consultation, he pinpointed exactly why my previous surgical crease was puffy and pinched like sausage eyelids.
Rather than vaguely saying everything could be improved, he explained the crease that could realistically be achieved based on my facial-feature proportions, and that made me think I should try it here lol. Looking at my preoperative photos, the crease was thick and high, so only my eyes looked excessively prominent and cramped. At two weeks and one month after surgery, I could see the major swelling go down and the crease become tidier; now that I am at two months, even the residual swelling has settled, and the skin fold has become much softer~~
The pinched feeling that bothered me most before and the excessive sausage-like crease have almost been corrected, and it is such a relief that my eyelids now fold naturally without a pulling foreign-body sensation when I open or close my eyes T_T. Also, the hospital checked me carefully and provided care at every follow-up, which I think helped my recovery a lot.
Because it was my second revision, my worries were far greater than my expectations, but all the deliberation and clinic visits were worthwhile. It seems to have settled into exactly the clean, natural eye shape I wanted lol.
