The consultant was very kind, and she said they were very confident about scars and a round-pointed shape, and that the director was very famous. So I almost made a reservation, but the consultation with the director was much simpler than I expected, and I was a bit suspicious that they said everything was possible, so I decided to look into other places more.
I liked the surgery photos they showed me too, but later when I looked at app reviews, they looked different from the surgery photos I had been shown more than I expected, so I wondered if maybe they were Photoshopped and decided not to do it there. Also, by my standards, there were more than one or two posts that seemed like broker posts. There were quite a few posts where the surgery was already over, but for years they kept replying well to comments asking for information.

The reason I liked this place at first was that it wasn’t in the Babitalk events. Looking at reviews in this community, there were comments saying people got scars or overcorrection, so I hesitated a bit, but at least there were no posts that felt broker-like, and seeing that it got word of mouth without promotion made me think I should at least have a consultation. First of all, I liked that the clinic was together with an ophthalmology clinic, so it felt different from factory-style clinics in Gangnam or Sinsa, and both the consultant and the director were kind.
The director’s consultation was longer and more detailed than the consultant’s, which made me trust them the most, and above all, the director was honest. They said that slightly opening up a D-shaped appearance and doing a subtle restoration actually would not bring that much benefit, so they hoped I would think carefully. The PPT they showed had a really wide variety of cases, and a surgery case with eyes similar to mine looked okay, so I wanted to do it there, but the director said my proportions were fine enough and told me to consider time, cost, and stress carefully before deciding.
At the same time, I said I was concerned about the roundness at the inner corner of my eyes, and they said that since the shape could improve if I tried Botox first, I should try a procedural option rather than restoration surgery and then think it over.
The surgical method was the U-Y method, and the internal restoration also seemed reliable, so they said it wouldn’t split open.
I also asked questions about scars, and regarding those bumpy, shiny scars, they said they couldn’t guarantee the result. They said that until 1 month, there could be a raised area like scar tissue at the inner corner of the eye. The reason they don’t cut that out is that later the skin gets pulled, and if they cut it away, there won’t be enough skin; they said the skin settles over 1 year. And regarding overcorrection, they said the restoration is done to the extent that it blocks the scar, and since there is a 2-year AS policy, after closing it, if I want, they can slightly open it with secondary canthoplasty.
Overall, rather than feeling like they perform surgery indiscriminately, it felt like they thought about the patient, so it was a consultation I trusted. So for now, I’m going to think about whether to have surgery later without going to consultations at other hospitals.
Epicanthoplasty restoration is a surgery that really needs to be considered carefully, so I hope you all go for a consultation here too.
