This is my day-14 review following my day-10 review
I went to the clinic today and had the stitches inside my mouth removed! I was seriously waiting only for today, and it feels so refreshing haha. Of course it hurt when they took them out! But I love how comfortable it is when brushing my teeth. I saw quite a few reviews talking about swelling inside the mouth, but maybe because I didn’t do the chin tip and only did two procedures, I have no intraoral swelling at all! Thanks to that, eating is fairly comfortable. Today I ate spaghetti and also carefully ate chicken.
Now the yellow bruising on my face is almost gone, and the blood bruising remains. Today I put on makeup for the first time and went out for a lunch appointment too.
The swelling is gradually going down from the top. Under my eyes, it’s almost all gone, so my dark circles are back,, lol that’s a bit disappointing..
It’s still early to talk about the effect, but if I write it out anyway, my jawline is still round because of the swelling. Because of the swelling, it looks square, but when I touch it, it’s gone. I think my cheekbones definitely look different.. When I wear a mask, my face looks smaller... I’m surprised that it looks different even though all the swelling hasn’t gone down yet. People say that after facial contouring you become subtly prettier. I think that’s what happens with cheekbone surgery. My cheekbones weren’t even very developed, but I’m really feeling the difference. But my left cheekbone feels a little unstable, so I’m a bit worried and being careful. It seems to hurt a little when I chew on that side, so I’m mostly chewing on the opposite side.. Even when I walk, my left side somehow throbs.. ㅠㅠ It’s not nonunion, right.. When washing my face, I can’t really scrub properly around the cheekbone area.. Will it get better around the one-month mark..
Sensation is coming back! After surgery, I had decreased sensation around the right maxillary area, but it’s gradually recovering. I think I just need to wait for this.
Blood running down into my throat has stopped now too! It ended around day 12. Thanks to this, getting around has become much easier.
Overall, appearance-wise, I still look worse than before surgery lololol. If I was -10 right after surgery, now I’m about -5..? I still need to get back toward my original state of 0, that kind of thing...? I think the major swelling will probably settle after about a month. Right now my cheeks are so plump lol. I look like Crayon Shin-chan. It’s a state where anyone would think, “Something looks weird? She looks bad?” If you want to hide signs of surgery, I think you should meet people after at least a month.
