There aren’t many removal reviews, so I’m writing this hoping it helps..
I just got my 13-year-old nose removed I had surgery once, and my surgical records were gone so I wasn’t sure, but I only remembered that septal cartilage was used for septal extension + Gore-Tex, and that’s what I told clinics during consultations.. but when they opened it today, they said it was Gore-Sili… lolololol
It was pretty for the first 2 years, but the nasal tip was extremely hard, the nasal bridge gradually got lower, and the implant became crooked and started showing through. Maybe because I’m easygoing, I just lived like this for 13 years Then something appeared on my nasal bridge, so I decided to have it removedㅠㅠ After going to consultations, they said it was calcification.. And I only found out last year that removal surgery existed..
During the consultation, I was scared of a saddle nose, so I asked them to reconstruct the septum, and they said they would use the septal cartilage that had been used in me. They said that after removing the implant, if the nasal bridge was compressed or uneven, they would shave it down a bit..
My first surgery was open, so this was open + sedation anesthesia Implant removal + removal of the septal extension, then they placed it along the side of the septum + tied and fixed the alar cartilage with dissolvable sutures (I think this is what’s commonly called cartilage repositioning..) I asked about saddle nose, upturned nose, nasal dorsum problems, etc., and fortunately it seems there weren’t any.. though I’ll know once the splint is removed
Because it was Gore-Sili, it took a bit long, I think a little under 3 hours. They said the implant was a bit crumpled or something… and that removal was a bit difficult The cartilage of mine used for the septal extension was in two pieces, but one side had calcifiedㅠㅠ They said they used only the salvageable side for reconstruction
This board doesn’t allow initials.. I didn’t go to one of the “big three”; I just went to a place I found through blog reviews. I’m a bit uncomfortable sharing the clinic I went to 9 places for consultations and 2 places for repeat consultations, so I researched for quite a long time.. There are dissatisfaction reviews everywhere, so I just went with the place I felt most drawn to One of the big three proposed the same surgery, but the reason I didn’t choose it was purely because the consultation wasn’t satisfying… It might have been because I’m not good at asking questions..ㅠ If the consultation had been okay, I think I would’ve had surgery sooner
I have the splint on, but even just looking, I can tell it’s lower lol Still, I feel so relieved, and I’ll just live while thinking my nose is cute I’ll post another review when it gets a bit better
