It was around December then, and while waiting, I waited an hour and a half.. I think I waited over 2 hours until I met the director. It strongly felt like a factory. I went for a functional nose consultation, but without a CT scan, they touched my nose and said my nose was crooked, then said they would do deviated septum and inferior turbinate work and moved on. For the nose, as in the reviews, they recommended donated rib cartilage. For the eyes, incisional double-eyelid surgery and ptosis correction. Then I asked a little about the inferior turbinate and it ended. They looked busy. It was like, do it if you want, don’t if you don’t. The consultation time felt like maybe 3 minutes. I don’t remember the price, but it wasn’t expensive. Probably because it was donated rib cartilage. I also asked about autologous costal cartilage, and they said they could do it, but under general anesthesia, and the anesthesia fee and harvesting cost were quite high. At that time, I was really tempted and was thinking I absolutely had to get it done by the director. The consultant told me to go to an ENT clinic and get a diagnosis code. When I went to an ENT clinic and asked for the code, I got seriously scolded, but they did give it to me. At that point I felt this wasn’t right, so when I said I wouldn’t make a reservation, the consultant said that if I came back after getting rhinitis surgery, they would charge it as revision surgery, so keep that in mind. Thinking about it now, I’m glad I didn’t do it. 1. ㅂㄹㅋ Functional 4.30 million + cosmetic 2.20 million Sedation, autologous costal cartilage. Since the doctor is an ENT specialist, the functional side seemed reliable. They emphasized that they would make it possible to get private insurance reimbursement for nasal valve surgery. But cosmetically, not really.. I was told they would do a virtual simulation, but they just adjusted it this way and that in Photoshop. While consulting with the consultant, I realized there was no mention of doing osteotomy for cosmetic reasons or nostril reduction, so I asked them to organize that part again, but they vaguely said they would adjust everything.. Assuming 80% private insurance reimbursement, the total after refund would be 3.10 million won, but still, not really..
2. ㄷㅇㅇ(ㅏ) Incision (revision) + ptosis correction = 1.76 million Epicanthoplasty (revision) 550,000 Dual canthoplasty 880,000
The director seemed confident in their own skill, but to put it negatively, I got an authoritarian feeling. Overall it wasn’t bad, and I also had an eye consultation, but they said that with dual canthoplasty, the eye could become D-shaped, so I should take that into account. When I said wouldn’t that look too artificial, they said they would match the standard I wanted, so tell them on the surgery day. They added that otherwise, it would also be okay to think of the money as wasted and just do a little surgery. It may be better than overcorrection, but I didn’t understand saying to spend several million won and if it doesn’t work, try again, when they’re not even going to do the revision for free. The consultant was kind and seemed hardworking (beautiful too). The director wasn’t bad, but I don’t think they would handle things smoothly if a problem occurred. They do seem skilled.

3. ㅁㅇㅌ Eyes incisional revision 3.00 million, front 880,000, dual 1.54 million ..? Nose autologous costal cartilage (sedation), functional 2.00 million, cosmetic 2.80 million, nostril 800,000 ...? The consultation with the director was good up to that point. They focused mainly on the nose, looked at the CT scan, touched my nose, and told me what the issues were (hump nose, bulbous nose, nostril reduction, septum, etc.). Honestly, almost every clinic pointed out the same nose issues, so it seems my nose is easy to assess. I thought they would do it according to my needs, whether glamorous or natural. The problem was the price. The consultant said it was an event price for autologous costal cartilage, so I thought it would be cheaper than other places, but it was much more expensive. If I also do functional surgery: functional 2.00 million + cosmetic 2.80 million, total 4.80 million, plus nostril reduction 800,000, so 5.60 million. The problem is that nasal valve surgery might not be reimbursed by private insurance, so when I asked how much of the three functional procedures was the nasal valve, they said 1.80 million was nasal valve. Assuming that doesn’t get reimbursed, it’s 5.40 million, which seems more expensive than other places. If I exclude the functional part, it’s just 4.60 million + nostril reduction 800,000 = 5.40 million? What is this.. It was the first place I saw that said they would charge nostril reduction separately. For the eyes too, incision 3.00 million, front 880,000, back and lower 770,000 each, totaling 1.54 million, so eye surgery alone goes over 5.00 million. They emphasized the deposit a lot, saying this price was only for today. As I was leaving, they took my business card and said they would discount it more if I paid the deposit by today.

I don’t know the order. Total 8.41 million A place I wanted to leave as soon as I arrived. First, Chinese clients were talking loudly, and it was hot because they didn’t turn on the air conditioner. When I made the appointment, they said it would take 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes, but everything ended in under 30 minutes. I originally had functional issues, so I wanted a functional consultation too, but they said it would be 30,000 won, so I said I’d only consult for cosmetic surgery. (I should have ruled it out then, but I only wasted time.) Also, before going, I definitely designated the doctor in charge, but when I got there they said it wasn’t registered and told me to write it again. Strangely, at this place, the consultant touched my nose like a doctor, said where the problems were, and wrote them down. But my nose has clear issues, so the diagnosis was exactly the same as if a doctor had done it. They said there is no CT for first-time surgery. (Anyway, I had no real intention as soon as I got there.) I said okay and waited, and soon the doctor came in and said almost exactly what the consultant had said. Other places said that in my case I should use autologous costal cartilage (if you look at the CT, my septum is already too deviated to use), but this place said they would use septal cartilage and ear cartilage, and that donated rib cartilage could be used or not. For the eyes, the doctor tried to understand the issues I was thinking of, and when I showed the photos I brought, they said it was fully possible. The problem was the ridiculous price.. Since it was so expensive, I said it seemed like the most expensive place out of all the places I had visited so far, and they didn’t really try to hold onto me. The consultant also seemed to know I already wasn’t interested.
5. ㅎㅇㅇㄷ Functional 2.75 million, cosmetic 4.50 million (4.15 million if full-face disclosure) Eyes monolid 2.00 million, back/lower 1.30 million = 3.30 million A place where I was satisfied with both the director and consultant. The director seemed academically outstanding. If they have a paper in Nature, they seem like a top-tier PhD even among PhDs (though I still think academic skill and actual hand skill are different). It seems they still lecture as a professor at a university in Seoul. Anyway, the consultation plan was nasal osteotomy + nostril reduction + hump nose correction + bulbous nose correction + silicone 4.5 to 5 mm. Unusually, here they always use ear cartilage, and in addition use rib cartilage or septal cartilage. In my case, they recommended rib cartilage. The consultant mainly talked about price negotiation and tried to match it as much as possible. But a 350,000 won discount for full-face disclosure feels a bit weak..? I also had an eye consultation, and they could suggest their own solution different from other places. Since I already had incisional surgery and it came undone, they suggested completely removing the line, enlarging the eyes with monolid ptosis correction, and leaving dual canthoplasty as an option. I think it’s a creative alternative, but I’ll probably pass..
6. ㅇㅇㅋ Anesthesia fee only Incision + upper epicanthoplasty, no ptosis correction This is where I previously had eye surgery. I had incision and epicanthoplasty, but the incision came undone and the epicanthoplasty was weak, so I went back. Even though the A/S period had passed, they said they would do it for only the anesthesia fee, which I’m grateful for, but the problem is naturalness. They pursue naturalness to an extreme degree. For the epicanthoplasty, there is still a lot of Mongolian fold left, so my eyes look stuffy, and because the outer corners of my eyes tilt upward, everyone recommended dual canthoplasty, but only this place said absolutely not.. I brought an old photo where I had opened my eyes using forehead strength but the photo came out well (no app at all, iPhone 6 camera), and they said it was impossible. They said a person’s eye-opening strength is already set to some degree, so surgery has to be done within that. As a non-specialist, and because I’ve seen many photos of people struggling from excessive surgery, I have no choice but to trust the director, but I wonder why every other place says it’s possible and only this director says it isn’t ... When I first went, I liked that they only told me what was necessary, but now I wonder if they’re being too conservative. I realized that just because a place is famous doesn’t mean it’s automatically the right fit for me. Still, they were kind even though I visited twice. I don’t want to resent them.
