How I found the hospital: I was only looking into calf reduction. At first, I was going to go to a hospital with a 3- or 4-character name that was considered top for calf Botox, but they said Botox cost 4 million won… so I completely cooled off and kept looking, and I heard this was a fairly well-known hospital(?) among people with lower-body obesity, so I thought they would probably be good at calf bulges too and went for a consultation.
Hospital pros: 1. The consultation was extremely detailed 2. They recommended surgeries that could be effective if tailored to my body 3. If something seemed unnecessary or poor value for money, they clearly said they did not recommend it 4. Among the surgeries they recommended during consultation, they also set priorities, so if you are worried about the cost, you can just choose the ones you want ex) They recommended them in order of best expected effect, like 1. calf reduction 2. mini ankle liposuction 3. calf liposuction 5. Extremely safety-oriented
I paid for the calves and arms together, so I don't remember the detailed individual costs well. I think they were roughly 3.5 million and 2.8 million. But they said this price was because I am not on the obese side, and if someone has a lot of fat to the point of obesity, there is more to remove, so it would be more expensive. Originally, I was going to go to 3 more liposuction consultations, but after consulting here, I booked the surgery date that same day and canceled all the other hospital appointments Because of the doctor's consultation + trustworthiness + gut feeling
My criteria for choosing a hospital: 1. Is the doctor a specialist? 2. Have they worked at one hospital for a long time? (whether the hospital name changes often, whether they move hospitals often) 3. Hospital cons: 1. Since it is a 20-year-old hospital, the facilities themselves are not flashy. They are not on the nice side. But they have long experience, and I liked the consultation so much that I thought hygiene and skill mattered more than outward-looking facilities, so it didn't really bother me 2. If there is apnea or severe movement during sedation anesthesia, for patient safety and surgery quality, they switch to local anesthesia, wake the patient, and continue the surgery (But after seeing news about deaths during anesthesia, I am quite afraid of anesthesia, and I always value quality, so this did not feel like a major downside to me)
