I often hear that I look tired, and improving my under-eye area because of under-eye wrinkles/hollowness is my first priority. Since I’m going to be lying on the operating table anyway, wanting to get overall anti-aging procedures is my second priority. I visited two plastic surgery clinics around Sinsa Station and Apgujeong, and one dermatology clinic. Personally, my style is to pursue surgery that looks so natural it seems like I had a subtle procedure, almost like I did something but didn’t.
1. ㅅㅅㅇ A beautiful consultant who looked like Kim Ok-bin came in and did the consultation. The consultation with the consultant somehow felt monotone and robotic. It was good that I could see a lot of before-and-after photos. After that, the director came in briefly for a consultation, glanced over my face, and said, “You should do fat repositioning. It would also be good to do fat grafting underneath.” He didn’t say much after that, so I asked, since I’d be doing fat grafting anyway, how would it be to add other areas like the forehead? He said the forehead wasn’t necessary, and if I were going to do it, I should put some into the nasolabial folds. I wonder if he was there even a total of 1 minute... Since I didn’t have many questions, he just left right away. I had heard so much that they specialize in under-eye fat repositioning, so I thought my first-priority goal of improving the under-eye area would be met here, but I was disappointed because there weren’t really any recommendations for the second-priority surgery I had in mind, which was becoming prettier overall. Price: Under-eye fat repositioning + under-eye micro fat grafting = 2.5 million KRW. If adding fat to the nasolabial folds, an additional 800,000 KRW.
2. ㄷㅆㅇ This place is a dermatology clinic, so under-eye fat repositioning isn’t possible. But I thought that if I got full-face fat grafting, maybe my under-eye area would also improve naturally, so I went there. Consultation fee: 10,000 KRW. Instead, the director very thoroughly touched and examined my face and spent time consulting with me. They explained in great detail where and how much fat should be placed, so I felt trust. I had a consultation for full-face fat grafting, and I think the price was around 2.8 million? (At this point, I had already made up my mind to get under-eye fat repositioning at a plastic surgery clinic, so I left without even writing down the price.) If I were only doing fat grafting, I think I’d go here.
3. ㅌㅇㅍ From the entrance, the Chinese-looking sign and gold lettering made me scared they might pursue a factory-style + flashy Chinese-style beauty look as I went in. Unexpectedly, the inside of the clinic was calm and Korean^^; and although I went at my reserved time, there were so many people even on a weekday that I waited quite a while. After consulting with the consultant, I went into a consultation with the director, who looked extremely tired, maybe because he had just finished surgery and come down. Still, I felt like he was using all his energy to consult calmly and meticulously, so it contrasted with ㅅㅅㅇ. I used to like my Indian bands because I thought they were cute, but as I got older, I felt that when I smiled, they stood out together with my eye wrinkles in a way that wasn’t pretty. The director first suggested fat grafting along the Indian band area connected along the tear trough, and putting a little into the nasolabial folds too. He also said I had nasolabial folds due to cheek sagging and recommended thread lifting for the anterior cheeks as well.
Price: Under-eye fat repositioning + under-eye fat grafting + nasolabial folds (they said they’d do this as a service. Maybe because fat in the nasolabial folds tends to disappear easily?) + anterior cheek thread lifting (they said it would be done with mesh threads) = 2 million KRW
In the end, I booked surgery at ㅌㅇㅍ. The price was affordable too, but I didn’t greatly factor price into plastic surgery. It was because I thought both under-eye improvement and an overall appearance upgrade would be possible.
