Procedure: two-part facial contouring—square-jaw reduction / chin-tip contouring Clinic: [Clinic A] Surgeon: Dr. Park Jun-gyu It has been a little over a month since surgery, so I am gradually leaving a review. I was not severely overweight, but my face looked broad and flat, which always stressed me out T_T. Because my face looked spread out, my features also seemed less distinct, and in photos it felt as though attention went to my face shape before my features... I think editing my face shape was almost essential whenever I took photos. I also had a double chin and was concerned that my mouth shape did not look pretty. While looking online for information about faces and cosmetic surgery, I realized how important facial contouring really is. I wanted a harmonious face shape closer to beauty standards shared in both East and West! The first plastic-surgery blog I happened to encounter after becoming interested in contouring was [Clinic A]. Reading Dr. Park Jun-gyu's blog, I felt he had a very deep understanding of aesthetics, so I immediately trusted him. Honestly, I strongly wanted to have it done at [Clinic A] from the start haha. Still, since it was contouring surgery, I did not decide immediately; I researched other clinics and had an in-person consultation at one more well-known clinic. In the end, I chose [Clinic A] because the consultation was systematic and detailed. They spent nearly an hour with me, and the surgeon clearly explained why certain aspects of my face were issues and how they could be improved harmoniously. Above all, I trusted him the most. What especially stayed with me was the surgeon saying that my chin was short. Rather than simply shaving down my square jaw, improving the short chin itself was more important. He therefore recommended the chin-tip extension I needed. I liked that it felt tailored to create harmony for my face, rather than simply making a trendy face shape. These days, many plastic-surgery clinics tend to shorten the jaw intentionally, so this is not commonly discussed; it felt refreshing that he offered such a clear solution. I thought, this doctor values the harmony of each person's face more than trends. Honestly, the price was not low. Since facial contouring is difficult to reverse once done and involves facial bones, there are many things to consider, including complications such as sagging. I did not want to decide based on price alone. I chose [Clinic A] because it was the place I trusted most, and in retrospect I think it was a good choice. It has now been a little over a month, and there is still substantial swelling in my jaw, so my chin tip looks long. I was told it is normal for it to look long for two months and that it will gradually improve with time, so I am waiting! Still, I am satisfied because my face shape itself has changed completely. My square jaw is gone, my face is much slimmer overall, and the broad, flat appearance has diminished greatly. What I like most is that my face is now closer to an oval shape. I especially notice the biggest change from the front! The before-and-after difference is clear in photos. I used to almost always edit my face shape in photos, but these days it is so convenient not to have to do that every time. With my face slimmer, attention definitely seems to go more to my features, and my overall proportions feel more balanced. People around me also often say my face has become slimmer, which makes me happy haha. But until I told them first, they had no idea I had surgery. I often heard things like, “Did you lose weight?” and “Your face got really slim.” Honestly, the first five days of recovery were the hardest. Blood-tinged phlegm came from my mouth, which kept bothering me and was difficult, but it was not as extremely hard as I had imagined before surgery! After reading contouring reviews from other clinics, I had prepared myself for unbearable suffering, but recovery was faster than expected. At a little over one month, I am going out and living normally just as before haha. Of course recovery differs by person, but mine was surprisingly fast, lol. It made me feel that I had not chosen the surgeon's skill for nothing! It has only been one month, so there is much more swelling to go down and the final result still needs time. But I already love seeing the clear change in my face shape. Mine was not simply a case of a square jaw; I also had a short chin, which made my overall proportions disappointing. Improving both my square jaw and chin tip has made my whole face feel much more harmonious, and I love it~ I am so excited to see how much more it changes as the swelling goes down and everything settles!
