Even when I was not making any expression before, my mouth corners drooped, and being misunderstood when expressionless was really stressful T_T. I heard “Are you angry?” or “Are you in a bad mood?” so often, even when I was just sitting still without any expression T_T. But it was not that I was in a bad mood; that was simply my natural expression. Maybe because it had been like that since I was young, I would often hear that my first impression looked fierce or that I seemed hard to approach T_T. Thinking about it, I started to wonder whether it was all because of my drooping mouth corners T_T. Even in photos, my mouth corners would drop downward, so I would consciously force a smile, and often only the area around my mouth looked awkward T_T.
At first, I also looked into fillers, but I wanted something permanent rather than temporary, so I began looking into mouth-corner surgery. I looked through reviews one by one and saw many reviews of [Clinic A] and [Doctor A]. I saw that, instead of simply raising the mouth corners excessively, he carefully considered the overall proportions of my lips and designed them to look natural when smiling. The reviews also seemed to show that he did not make everyone look the same, but designed according to proportions that suited each person, which attracted me even more. The doctor’s explanations were very detailed and calm, so after the consultation, I decided to proceed without hesitation.
It has now been two weeks since my mouth-corner surgery. In the beginning, there was swelling and a tingling pain after surgery, but surprisingly, the pain went away quickly! After about a week, the swelling subsided and my mouth shape became natural. At the two-week mark, I had my stitches removed, and every time I look in the mirror, I can feel that my impression has improved so much compared with before, so I enjoy looking in the mirror! The scar I worried about is also almost invisible. With a little makeup, it is barely visible unless someone looks very closely, and it has healed so seamlessly that nobody notices in everyday life. Since having mouth-corner surgery, I have also heard a lot that my expression looks much brighter. I used to hear so often that I looked chic and cold, but these days I am happy to hear compliments that I look pleasant and at ease.
Of course, there are still many things I need to be careful about, such as not opening my mouth widely yet, but just not looking sulky when expressionless and having a much softer impression makes me think I did really well to have the surgery!
