Reason for surgery ➡️ I had been concerned about my facial shape for years. Facial contouring surgery felt like such a major operation to me, so I tried procedures that could improve my facial shape: fillers (forehead, chin tip), Shurink, InMode, and so on. I felt I was only spending money without much improvement, so I decided on surgery. Why I chose [Clinic A] ➡️ Intuition + the coordinator’s sincere consultation ➡️ Dr. A accurately identified my areas of concern, and because they had extensive experience, I felt they would perform the surgery safely and well. Day of surgery It seems I was strapped down and anesthetized almost immediately afterward. I remember nothing. My throat hurt badly and I could not speak. My entire face hurt, but my chin tip was truly painful, like I had been hit by someone and then run over by a truck. What I remember is that the night nurse was incredibly kind. Even before I called, they came with me when I needed to use the restroom and proactively checked on my condition, which was great. (Thank you to the night nurse on August 20.) Day 1 Around 10, the drainage tube was removed and I was discharged. Removing it did not hurt. Better than on the day of surgery, but still very painful. Day 2 The swelling became severe, and I learned that swelling itself can hurt. In particular, my eyes and mouth felt like they would burst from the swelling and compression of the face wrap. Day 3 No different from day 2. Day 4 The swelling went down dramatically. Chin-tip tape was removed, and Dr. A checked the inside of my mouth. I then received swelling management and went home. I thought my chin tip would hurt less after the tape was removed, but not at all. Day 5 I could feel the recovery in my body. I touched various parts of my face for the first time and was relieved that there was nowhere with absolutely 0% sensation. There was definitely less bloody phlegm, but I still had a runny nose and phlegm. Tissues were essential for walks. The square tissues given at cafés were convenient to carry. Day 6 I could feel the swelling decreasing day by day and my condition improving. Day 7 Sideburn sutures removed, without pain + Dr. A checked the inside of my mouth + I received in-clinic laser care for swelling and went home. At this time too, the swelling went down dramatically once more. ✅ More useful than expected -Humidifier (It helped a lot when my throat felt like it was tearing on days 1–4.) -Various types of pillows (If you sleep by arranging pillows like Tetris, you probably do not need to buy a cosmetic-surgery pillow or wedge cushion.) ✅ Less useful than expected -Daiso sauce containers (Buy paper cups instead.) ❓ How long does the pain last? I remember being in so much pain immediately after surgery that I searched many surgery reviews about when it gets better, so I am writing this. You will be okay if you endure just 3–4 days after surgery.
