First of all, I had never had surgery or a procedure before, and having such a small, thin mouth had been an enormous source of stress throughout my life T_T. Since middle school, I talked constantly about getting lip filler. Seriously, the width was about the same as my nostril width... I wanted to keep my natural lip shape (a cupid's-bow lip shape) and just make it fuller. I diligently researched, found a place with good reviews that gave me a good feeling, booked right away, and took the train to Seoul haha. The consultant and staff were extremely kind. They did not push excessive procedures; they were simply very kind. The doctor was really cheerful too, and even though it was my first time, I could tell they were skilled. I have a very low pain tolerance, so I got an anesthetic injection. But that injection really hurt the most...
The first time, I had 1 cc plus Botox for the corners of my mouth. It hurt so much that I tensed up and got bruised T_T. The swelling was enormous too; my lips became huge... It felt like all the swelling went down in three days, while the bruising lasted a little longer. At first I liked the shape, but as the swelling gradually subsided, they went back to nearly my original lip thickness T_T. After about a week, people around me could not even tell I had filler... After two weeks, I went for a touch-up. When I asked for more volume, they added another 1 cc lol. Maybe because it was a touch-up, but the molding hurt a little this time.
So I received a total of 2 cc plus Botox for the mouth corners once. They told me to refrain from adding more filler for six months lol. Also, my upper lip was very curled inward, so the doctor was even sweating while injecting filler to evert it. The right side straightened well, but they said some muscle on the left side had settled in place, perhaps because I often everted my lip. So they said it would not straighten well, and that adding more here would make my mouth look like a fish, so it was not advisable. They recommended semi-permanent lip makeup... I guess I will just cover it with makeup.
I paid about 550,000 won for unlimited-volume Restylane Kysse, and during the consultation they clearly said up to two touch-ups were free. But perhaps because I added 1 cc at the touch-up, they said I could only have one...? It was a little disappointing, but since I had already received 2 cc, it did not really matter. They said the mouth-corner Botox would be complimentary if I had photos taken, so I got it. Although they call it unlimited volume, it seemed like they basically wanted to inject only 1 cc plus a little extra... Since my lips were so small and absorbed filler easily, I felt the staff were slightly wary. When I asked, “It is okay to get more at the touch-up, right?” they vaguely replied along the lines of, “You can, but you have already received the full 1 cc now...” Anyway, since I got everything I wanted, next time I will just go to a good clinic in my area. Going all the way to Seoul is too bothersome.
